You think I'm a cranky old geezer?

You're right. HOWEVER, I went Yahoo board cruising and I read about our friend Sandy who was here soliciting folks to join the lapband board that is just another recruiting tool for Ortiz...remember her?? This weekend, she was kicked off of one of the boards because she was pretending to be someone "gailkitty" (go figure) who was shopping for the right doctor and was using that "disguise " to recruit more patients away from a particularly pro-Kuri board to become Ortiz patients.

The moderator said she was "sharking," but I'm starting to think that, in the case of SOME of these people, that term is insulting to sharks everywhere.

Hmmm. . . Well, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. My professional social worker curiosity makes me wonder what exactly makes dear Sandy tick. I mean, she's been kicked off of boards before, right? And she most certainly has been the subject of lengthy threads full of anger. If it were me, I would take a hint. But no. . . The fact that she's now using other screen names is troubling.

Anyway, Sue, where have you been and how are you feeling? I know you had a rough time post surgery. I sure hope you are feeling better now.

Nancy

Sharking.. that is exactly the image I got from the other threads. Sharks lingering around, smelling for fresh bait, innocent and unknowing.

You're right, too - if they start making up fictitious names and personnas, that's really crossing the line of integrity or credibility.

Sue, I think you rock! I love how you call a spade a spade. I'm pretty old myself, and after this many moons, you just start to tell it like it is. Time was when I would do just about anything to avoid confrontation, now I make my point when I know I'm right.

You, my dear make excellent points and I love reading your posts.

Rock on!

Hey Marie, I'm 51, but my mind hasn't caught on yet. I'm the old lady at work and those young gals tell me I'm pretty cool for an old woman. I went to a bachelorette party the other night with a crew of 20 something girls and now I can pop the booty!

My kids still think I'm older than dirt. But I saw a glimmer of respect from my younger son when we were out bike riding yesterday. The healthier me gave him a run for his money.

Nancy,

I think I've been kicked off more boards than Sandy. Well, I'm banned more often, that's for sure. I'm here...I'm not thrilled with my Tummy Tuck, but I was warned in advance that a revision was likely. So, it's a few months off. Lipo, they tell, to even things out. But they don't want to do it until everything "settles." thank you for asking.

Neicy,

It's never a good idea to encourage me. I'm outta control enough on my own...but thanks for letting me know that I'm not alone in my thinking on the topics at hand!

Sue

And I'm closer to 60 than 50...way closer. So, I think I'm gonna start saying that 60 is the new 43. ;-D

what was that Sandy's other name on boards? I'm glad she's gone. I liked that description comparing her to a shark. Geezer Sue, did you say you had a Tummy Tuck? When? Are you not happy with it?

She used zsflower here and on most boards. But apparently she was also gailkitty200 so something like that in her attemplt to lure pre-ops from Kuri's board to the new Ortiz board.

O! the Drama!

Anyone that's interested is welcome to email me privately to hear my side. If you're not interested, that's fine too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
