So, I am 20 days post op and am experiencing a lot of head hunger. I try and distract from it but the only thing that seems to work is watching food network, which is really weird. Is anyone else experiencing this and what do you do to help get rid of it? I have one more week of full liquids and I think I might die! Help Please!!!

Lots of people have this. For me, it went away as soon as I was able to eat real food again. It's the toughest part. Hang in there, it will be over before you know it...and you'll be on your way to a healthier life.

Head hunger hasn't gone away for me. When I recognize head hunger, I drink something instead and it goes away. That's not exactly useful when you're on the liquid diet, though!!

When I get head hunger, and just can't escape it's nagging, I eat meat, chicken or pork first to fill me up and retrain my brain to associate meat with head hunger. After eating Protein, and I still have that nagging little voice, I will allow myself a small portion (remember I'm physically full from the protein), about 1/2 a coffee cup (a real coffee cup, not a Starbucks Grande!) of whatever I'm craving. I'm normally satisfied after that.

It's not weird at all!! I'm 4 weeks post op and I was home from work for 3 weeks and all I watched was the food network!! It helped me ... Crazy I know!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
