Recommended Posts

Ok guys I haven't been here in a while, but I had my band placed on 4/28/2006 the best day of my life and things were going pretty good, except for a few little bumps in the road if u go to my threads u will see what i'm talking about. Anyway not 6 months after having surgery i'm now 3 months pregnant of course I never thought I would be a mother but God had other plans for me, but I can't take it back now i'm going to have my baby and jump back on the bandwagon to losing again, meanwhile my doctor has released all the saline out of my band I have no food restriction which is not good I can eat whatever uurrggghhh !!!!

:help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

I just wanna know did this happen to anyone else if so what steps did u take with the band after having the baby and did u gain most of the weight u lost with band back during pregnancy ? Someone just some encouragement please !

Hi, I just wanted to congratulate you on the baby. I see we were banded on the same day. I haven't been in the same situation as you, as I am well beyond having children at this stage of the game. However, when I had both my children, I was already obese. So, I was determined not to use being pregnant as an excuse to eat out of control and gain even more weight. I was just extremely careful and managed to only gain 21 pounds with my first and 24 with the second. Then, I lost all of that right after giving birth. Best of luck to you. I loved being pregnant!

It's been a bit of a struggle this last week...I'm hungry ALL the time.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
