Recommended Posts

My husband stayed overnight on a cot in my room, and most of the two days I was in the hospital but he sort of drive me nuts... Wanting to watch movies when I wanted to sleep, etc. it was nice to have him there to walk the halls with.

Because my hospital was over an hour away..My husband did not stay with me. In fact, my only contact with family was over the phone. We walked the surgical unit a lot together over the phone. By me being by myself I was able to focus on my treatment and recovery. I was sleeved 6/4/13. 22 days out.

My boyfriend didn't stay overnight but because I had a private room they let him stay past visiting hours.

I was in hospital for 4 days, the first day I needed help getting to the toilet by myself but from the second day I was showering myself ect.

I didn't mind asking the nurses for help they were really nice and it's what they are there for!

With you your first night at hospital?

Did you take a shower at hospital later on after your surgery?

I have so many thoughts racing through my mind right now! My surgery is 6/26/13 Yikes!

Stay with me? Heck no! It was time for me to ask questions, walk out the toots, and just doze off for a few minutes here and there. I was discharged the next day so while he did visit in the mornings before work, I didn't even have him bring my kids up. I did have a few of my sorority sisters visit, which loved. I had the remote to myself, my iPad and my phone. What else did I need? Nothing!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
