Calling all June 11 sleevers

Recommended Posts

I was done on June 11 and want to see if where I am and what I am doing is right. They give u all kinds of info, but I'm still not sure if what I'm doing is right. Finding it real hard to get the Protein and liquids in that I need. I'm doing about 12ozs of Protein Shakes a day and and 30ozs of Water only. Plus doing some sf pudding with dry milk added in for calories. I'm tired and taking a few naps a day...am I just lazy or is that normal, lol. Where is everyone else?

I was sleeved on the 10th. I find all the broths nasty so I found a recipe. 2 regular sized cans of chicken broth, 2 scallions cut into long pieces, 2 tbs soy sauce and a piece of ginger. Simmer for 10 minutes. Much better tasting. A bit more sodium but at this point who cares.

I can't get enough Water in either. I hate the Protein Shakes and the Vitamins make me ill, hate the chalkiness. Ughh. Hope my body doesn't conk out on me before 7/1. That's my three week mark and I can eat mushy foods. That day can't come soon enough.

Can I suggest a really yummy Protein drink...Chike! I didn't think I would be successful because I hated all the protein drinks until I found it. It's very good and no after taste.

I was sleeved on June 10th. I drink my Protein Drink (power from GNC) that's 25 gr of Protein, and sometimes just two of those. Other times, one of those and one Premier Protein (which is only 11 fl oz for 30 gr of protein). I'll have creamed Tomato, or butternut squash soup....sf pudding, and maybe a sf Popsicle too. Since I am so used to snacking at night (this will be hard to break LOL) I found a yummy bariatric protein hot chocolate which is 15 grams. So, I sip that at night and it helps :)

I was also done on the 11th & I'm on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks. All I can have is Water, very diluted 100% juice, broth (uggghhhh) and Crystal light. NOTHING ELSE.

No Protein or Vitamins. From here I go to 2 months of full liquids & only 5 days out & umm I'm so OVER broth. And I'm like am I hungry? Bc I sure do feel like it. :)

I find it very interesting that different docs give different diets. I wonder why u aren't allowed and shakes after the surgery?

I was just wondering the same thing? That's the first I heard someone being on clear liquids for so long and so long for full liquids? Do you have other health issues also maybe? I would think your body would need the Protein right now to heal...but, I'm not a doctor, so what do I know LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
