I have a DATE! February 15 - Dr. Johnson's 1st surgery of the day! Already packing my bags for the hospital. Might camp out in the parking lot just to be sure I'm not late.

Hi,

I am starting to get nervous and excited. 13 days until surgery. I have my nutrition class tomorrow, and I believe I have to do a liquid diet for a week before. I will get all of the information tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing?

Yea! I can join a group now! My surgery date is 2/15 and I can't think of a better Valentines Day gift to myself. Who knows, maybe next year I'll have a date for Valentines Day.

I'm being banded by Dr. Malley in Kansas. My Supervisors are throwing a food orgy for me on 2/8 and bringing all my favorite foods that I will no longer be gorging on after my surgery.

I can't wait. Good luck to everyone on their upcoming surgery.

Sharon

Hello everyone!! this is my first post... I'm having surgery in 7 days (Feb 1st). Start liquid diet today. I can't wait to get back in shape!! I'll be the first person that I know of to have the surgery. I hope this works, with out major complications. I am an E.R. Nurse and I really want to inspire others. This is a great site. I've gotten a lot of valuable information here. Good luck to all... I'll be sure to let you all know how I am doing...

Susannah how can you stand it. I hate being such a whiner but I am unbelievably miserable on this stuff. I feel exhausted all the time and totally depressed that I can't eat. Heck I am even craving healthy food like grilled fish or cottage cheese.< /p>

Gday Babygrl, believe me it does get easier, and your body becomes used to it more each day. I may have an advantage here as it is summer and the weather is hot. I always eat less and lighter in summer.

Keep at it, the time will pass. Susannah

Thats good to know. I have had to pass on duties like feeding the kids and buying food to hubby right now because I can't even deal with it. Heck I had to fork over my debit card and cash so I won't feel the need to stop for fast food. But hey I am starting to enjoy sugar free Jello so I guess that is a plus! Are you getting so ecxited for your surgery?

Gday Baby, I am not really excited, but more nervous to be honest. I will feel a bit more relieved when it is all over and I have recovered from it.

One week to go. Susannah

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
