Info on the Marriott, please?

Recommended Posts

I am off to Mexico next week for my surgery. I was hoping some of the veterans on this board could give me some info on the Marriott. My husband is coming with and I just wanted to know some of the features of the hotel and room. Thanks!

Might be helpful to say which Marriott you're referring to...I imagine there are a lot of different Marriott's in Mexico ;)

I didn't use many of the amenities but there is a beautiful pool with jacuzzi, fitness center, great restaurant, small bar, and gift shop (with popsicles and some personal care items). The rooms are truly beautiful with marble floors, soft beds, lots of pillows, wireless access, coffee, etc. My hubby and I loved it!. Hope this helps, but yes, check out the website.

Kathryn,

Thank you for the reply. I have been on the website but was looking for the inside story that only those who have been there would know. Thanks for the info. I guess I don't need to bring pillows which is a relief because I am trying to travel light!

I am not very adventurous so I didn't explore the hotel too much, but the room was beautiful. Tv worked great with lots of english channels. In room safe, bottled Water always there and you can request more. Room service is great and everyone speaks english. Wifi works in your room and they will bring you a code each day. Lots of pillows (extra blanket and pillow in bathroom closet as well).

Does anyone remember, do the rooms have armchairs?

I have to stay a few extra days, and I'm trying to decide whether it would be worth it to pay the extra $25 bucks to have the upgrade to a room with a golf course view and balcony...anyone have an opinion?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yes there is a small table with two arm chairs and also a desk with a comfy office chair. Views weren't so bad, we had street views but the mountains were off in The distance. And a mini bar fridge they will empty out for you to use as a regular fridge.

I'm thinking of upgrading too because I'll be be their a week and so my mom will get some more amenities. Did you contact the Marriott to find out the price?

I think I first heard about the price from my coordinator, but I also saw it on Hotels.com and Expedia.

Thanks for the furniture info, srs82781!

I am a self confessed "princess" and was ready to organise an upgrade - but it wasn't needed. The room is actually lovely ... I hung out by the pool and it seemed to have sun all day ... Also a nice little Mall 5 min away. You'll have a great recovery there ... Also the bell boys are lovely, helpful & friendly

Quick question about this Marriott in Tijuana: if I can start to eat yogurt while I'm at the hotel, is that included like the broth is? Are you limited to the amount of broth you can have? Does anyone have recommendations for a 12 year old that is traveling with us to florence and the Marriott? What can she eat there?

Rollergirl - What about tipping? What is standard tipping? Who all do I tip? And when?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
