About 2 weeks ago I got a rash that is on my arms, hands, legs and stomach. I went to the dr and he said to take an antihistamine and have me a Rx for a steroid cream. It's not going away. I read that when you go through fat loss and in ketosis, the toxins are being released at a rapid rate which causes the itchy rash. Has anyone experienced this and how long does it last??? I'm going crazy, not only from the itching, but my arms and legs are so ugly looking!

Wow I don't know much about why or whatever but I just posted a thread about the same thing! My rash is on my arms, elbows, and shoulder. I don't know why and I been putting hydrocortisone cream on it but after reading this will be making an apt for my doctor.

I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and I have a similar problem too. I've been having a rash with small raised bumps on my shoulders, upper arms, back and lower legs. Drives me bonkers and itches alot, wakes me up. I was worried I had gotten into mosquitos, ants, chiggers or maybe even bed bugs on a recent trip. I've had this rash for at least 2 weeks...I'm relieved to read that I'm not the only one having this issue! I never even thought it could be a response to my surgery. I'm also having pimples on my face like a teenager and I'm 51 years old....now if my body only looked like a teenagers I wouldn't complain...but hey. LOL

My friend told me Lavender and Roman Chamomile essential oils help with rashes. Also pure coconut oil.

I had the same thing at two weeks but luckily only on my stomach. At first I thought it was cellulitis! I had to get a script for the itching and finally went away about 1.5 weeks later

When I was doing the preop diet my face neck arms broke out. It must have been hives but it looked like little pimples. Getting the Iv for surgery cleared everything up. So more Water was my answer

I went to the dermatologist today because I've had the rashes for 2 weeks and its spreading to my chest and belly. They were stumped and had to do a biopsy. I hope it goes away soon!

Ugh I can't get into my doctor for a week. Mine is literally just on my arm and shoulder. Had a couple on my elbows but went Away. I'm so frustrated with it. It is disgusting! Nothing is working. :/

I'm four days post op and noticed yesterday a rash all over my stomach spreading around the sides. It doesn't itch (yet?) but it's ugly and I don't want it to spread or cause other problems. I'll try an antihistamine first, hopefully that will help! Glad to know I'm not alone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
