Rounding the corner to the 100 pounds lost mark

Recommended Posts

I am 7 pounds away from losing 100 pounds. I have said all along that I wanted to do something big for losing 100. My ideas were get a tattoo or get my nose pierced.

My dilemma is - my parents and a number of others are against the tattoo. I was all for it - an infinity sign with my daughter's names in it and a "100" dangling off it to show 100 pounds lost forever. But now I am not so sure. When I am 65 am I still going to be happy with it, et cetera....(I am 47 as of tomorrow)

What I really, really want is to get my nose pierced. Tiny diamond stud. I think it is beautiful and I, in my opnion, have a petite, cute nose. My HUSBAND is against it and so are my kids. And I am sure just about everyone else would be, too. I was almost to the point of like, too bad, it is what I want and should be my decision but I don't know if I can do it if it will be hurtful (embarrassing) to my family.

So then I thought perhaps I would have my engagement ring redone - it needs to be resized and many years ago I lost a side stone and we just put in a cubic zirconia instead of a real diamond so I could get that replaced with a diamond and maybe a new setting. I like the idea but I don't love it.

I thought I was going to be out of my mind with happiness once I got to 100 pounds but I don't know maybe I should just do nothing and save the money to put towards getting a boob and arm lift. Now that everything is sagging it kind of has me sad.

What did you all do for hitting that big milestone or for hitting goal?

Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss! I kind of like the tattoo idea, but I would keep it small, tasteful and perhaps where it can be concealed by clothing? To be honest I'm not a big fan of tattoos or piercings. However, it is your body and you are approaching a special milestone in your journey so I think you should Celebrate that in a way that will make you feel happy and proud of your accomplishment. Your family will accept what you decide to do. Saving for plastic surgery is also a worthy goal if you feel strongly that you want to get it. Not sure what I will do when and if I attain that 100 lb loss. The old me would gave eaten a pizza to celebrate! LOL! I will probably go shopping for some new cloths. Your post has got me thinking.

pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274

I have four tattoos that I got in my 40's and each of them have a special meaning. I don't regret getting any of them. You have to do for yourself what you feel is best. Your family should be supporting you in any decision that you make. Losing 100 pounds is an amazing thing to accomplish and only you(and others who have done so) can relate. Make the decision on your own and you will definitely chose what is right for you. Big congratulations too!! You deserve it!!

Congrats! When i reached my 80 lb weight loss, I chose to go to Maui with my husband. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. Now I plan on living life to it's fullest. Will be traveling to Washington DC to see my grand children this month some time :)

I have had my nose pierced since 1975. When i came home, with my hand over my nose... my mom shook her head and looked worried. After a couple of days my dad said "Its not that I love you less, its that I might take you out to dinner less!" He was serious. Years later, he told me he doesn't even notice it any more, and who cares. I got a tattoo for my 55th birthday, my dad really does not like that, but when I showed it to my folks, they said how many do you have? I said that was it, and they said they were sure I must have had more before, a really... no big deal. I say do what means something to you... the rest will shake out. At least that is what happened for me....and with the nose ring, the only pierced noses you saw at the time were in National Geographic!

I bought a Bracelet in a regular size, a pair of knee high boots, and a really cute outfit that went with the boots and bracelet. And then I bought a couple of belts too.

It's your goal: make yourself happy. But do remember that happiness is what makes you happy in the long run. For example, I might be very happy eating a crapload of ice cream today, but tomorrow, not so much.

Congrats on leaving the losers' bench behind and taking a seat on the goalies bench!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
