My Hubby Barbequed I ate chicken no sauce. I will go back for a second piece lol.

Not craving the rest. But I'm fine with it.

I "opted out" of the big in-laws pool party (it was more about the people than the food honestly). I am the only one who can't properly wear a two piece (and I probably won't ever). I married into a family of hot-ness... someday I'll be able to lay by the pool and not feel like the whale... grrr!

I enjoyed a walk on the local greenway, and am about to grill up my own chicken and zucchini for dinner ;)

4 days pre-op so I took a nice long nap after a killer session with my trainer! It's storming now so no neighborhood smells to tempt me. :-)

Isn't it sad that Memorial Day (a day where we are supposed to honor and remember those that have fallen fighting for our country) is often remembered for BBQ's... while Veteran's Day is to thank all service members for the commitment and duty for serving in the military typically isn't? Probably because it is too cold in many states come November.

As a veteran and a wife of a husband who is still active duty, we went to cemeteries to visit our fallen heroes and replace old flags with news ones, and give flags to those who may have been forgotten.

BBQ's are great and give plenty of us Post Op'ers time to graze on tidbits here and there, but please don't forget those who are still fighting who can't come home, and don't forget those that have passed so we can remain at home to have a BBQ.

I wish my brother could be here with me today.

I too went to the cemetery to do the same for my father. I didn't mean any disrespect, but since this is a forum for people who have or are going to have WLS, I was curious how people were dealing with it.

No, No disrespect taken... I was commenting on how many of us Celebrate with BBQ on memorial day but not Veteran's day, and to make sure that no one forgets the meaning behind today.

As for the actual BBQ's there are so many in SoCal that I swear the state is on fire. LOL

I was just sleeved on the 22nd (5 days post op) so I still have no desire to eat and I'm still on my full liquid diet. However, I will say they made the first good smelling thing today, which was a banana bread. Normally I would hate banana cake but today it looked good. Again, I'm not hungry and food seems gross, but I am already sick of juices, Water, Decaf tea, broths, and Jello.< /p>

I was sleeved on 5/17. I am feeling good so I decided to invite family over for a BBQ. They were all afraid to come because they didn't want to eat in front of me. I wanted to break everyone from that, so I encouraged them to come. I am perfectly fine with people eating and enjoying their food in front of me. It doesn't bother me. They all feel guilty. I don't want to be isolated. I want to be with everyone because in my opinion, it's not about the food, it's about family being together. I made a huge Pasta salad and my hubby BBQ'd burgers and dogs. I'm not gonna lie, it all looked and smelled great, but I was truly ok with it all. My way of dealing with all of this I guess. The family relaxed when it came time to eat and didn't make a huge deal about it. It was a great day. Btw, my son in law is serving in the Army. This was also to pay tribute to him, as well!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
