How many Gas-x strips at once?

So, I have been using the gas-x strips since getting out of surgery three days ago. I just now read the directions...I'll blame it on the pain meds. It calls for 2-4 at a time. I have only been using one at a time with not so great results. So, I am just curious how many at once you guys feel was helpful. Thanks!
