I think for some this is a somewhat unavoidable process. Obviously getting in all your Vitamins and Protein is a good way to stave it off. The up side is that most of the tales of Hair loss I have read here have all included it coming back more full and thick than before. So yea that sucks but maybe it will be better in the end. Just keep up the vitamins and food.< /p>

I'm sorry you're going through this!! Biotin will help, but it takes a few months to build up in your system. how much are you taking? It's not possible to "Overdose" on Biotin, so get something strong and take it 2-3x/day. I got a liquid version from puritan.com, it's 3000 mcgs per dose: http://www.puritan.com/biotin-421/liquid-biotin-3000-mcg-051290

They also sell a biotin conditioner as well, but I haven't tried that.

You can also try Rogaine for Women, or even for Men because that formula is stronger. And thickening mousse might help. Or even try a new haircut so it's not as noticeable. Go to a good stylist and tell them about the thinning so they can suggest something to hide it best. Coloring your hair also plumps up the hair shaft, but can be damaging, so do that with caution or under the care of a stylist. It may sound counter productive, but cutting it shorter (obviously, I don't know what your hairstyle is now!) can make it look thicker, too.

I'd also suggest not washing/styling it every day. And if you put your hair in pony tails often, don't do that - pulling your hair back causes a lot of breakage. I use Wen hair products and I don't have to wash my hair daily with that. I also feel like my hair feels fuller using that (I've always had thin hair).

Good luck, hon. Hopefully it will slow down, soon!!

I take Biotin and I use a biotin & collagen or just a collagen Shampoo and conditioner everyday. Mine was coming out in handfulls, and on some days it still does. My doc told me to go down to one mulit-vitamin a day, but I went back up to 2 a day because I think it helps. They say it stops around the 6 month point. I'll be at 5 months tomorrow, so I hope they are right!

There are so many topics just like yours. I know it may not be comforting to hear that many of us do lose our hair despite all best efforts to avoid it. Mine started to fall out around month 3 so before it got bad, I cut it all off into a really short pixie haircut. I then donated the hair to locks of love. That way some good was able to come out of the inevitable. I'm a little past 6 months now, and my hair has started to fill back in, but I'm lovin and rockin this new cut, so I have no plans to grow it again. Good luck whatever you decide, but unfortunately it happens :(

I was told prenatal gummy vitamins would help and also putting coconut oil in your hair, saturating it well and leaving in for 30 minutes and then wash as usual. Also like some already said, the less product the better and try not to use clips bands, etc. I lost a LOT with my Lapband but didn't have this information. Good news is it did all grow back.

Unfortunately it's unavoidable. You can try using nioxin Shampoo or taking Biotin but its due to the rapid weight loss and unless you are one of the lucky few it just happens regardless of what you do. Mines been coming out for almost 2 months now, I'm hoping it stops soon. I'm really the only one who notices, no one else does. I am getting some new growth tho, so I'm not too worried.

My doctors office told me to get either F.A.S.T. Shampoo and conditioner or " Garlic" shampoo and conditioner..( doesn't smell like garlic, smells really good)..I have been using both before I even start to lose my hair..It makes your hair grow faster..can't hurt..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
