Milk and yogurt!! I'm jealous I only get clear liquids: broth, sf popsicles, h2o, and the Protein shakes.. but that's only 5 days before..Ive already started switching out Breakfast and lunch for Protein Shakes though.. next week I'll be weening myself off caffeine...getting ready mentally I guess..i figure baby steps will be easier then cold turkey:)

Previous poster, i too get nervous. I question whether I'm doing the right thing. I mean- this will probably get rid of my diabetes, hypertension, and cure my addictive eating issues. I will likely not develop a host of other issues, and I'll probably live a longer life if I am able to get to a normal weight.

On the other hand, what if something goes wrong? I die and leave my three year old and seven month old without a mother? I've read stories of people ending up hospitalized for months with sepsis or leaks... Then I can't work and provide food and shelter for those babies?

Obviously the chances of that are very slim, so I will forge ahead. But they are definitely concerns that scare me.

I'm also anxious to go through the breakup with food. I know that is going to be a hard process.

So I choose to not think of those things when they pop into my head. I am doing this and life will be so much better. Only positive outcomes can happen!

Met with my surgeon today for my pre op. will be starting my liquid diet on 6/3. I think I wanna start it sooner than that.

I start pre-op on the 3rd too! Yes! I'm an over achiever too! I started shakes in the AM. Monday I'll start shakes in the AM and PM. Then on the third I'll transition to full liquids.< /p>

SlimDreams, my date is 3rd june and I'm kinda having fears of "am i doing the right thing?" "Will I regret this op?" "Will I be happy with the amount of food? " Etc etc.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one having little fears!!!

But in the long run I know this is the best thing for me and I'll be fine

I just got my date today....June 13th! but i am seeing alot of liquid diets, my doctor told me that i only have to do the liquids the day before surgery :( He said it was because i already have lost a good amount of weight (over the 10% they requested) so my liver should have shrunk enough already. Now that i have my date, I got that feeling you get when you are getting on a big roller coaster for the first time :o

I guess I'll be leaving this group. Dr called yesterday and moved my surgery from June 7th to May 28th. Excited and scared.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
