You look awesome! I love the suit too. I went bathing suit shopping last weekend. It's just so amazing to be able to put on a suit and feel good isn't it??

Wow. Talk about inspiration. My starting weight was 293 & my surgery was 4/15/13. I can only dream about being in the 180's! Any tips???

You look great! Lucky you...I have wrinkles around my inner thighs! Going to have to wear a skirted suit or the short looking ones! :-(

Trish- my advice would be to set small goals for yourself, stay positive, work activity into your daily life and find a way to work out that you enjoy! I love spinning classes! Also, listen to everything your nutritionist has to tell you!

Thanks! I can't figure out how to turn his picture right side up. His name is Duffy and he is a Goldendoodle. I ordered a bathing suit over the weekend. I'll try and be brave a post a pic of myself. I'm a short 5'3" and weigh 186 today. I hope I look as great in my new suit as you do NurseMeg!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
