Although I do not live in South Carolina, my husbands employer goes through them for insurance for his employees.

I can't find anywhere that says bcbs of sc covers gastric sleeve. I know they will cover the band and gastric bypass because those two procedures are listed on their website when I log in.

Now I'm worried sick. I don't want the lap band or gastric bypass. Does anyone here have bcbs of sc that can tell me whether or not they will cover the gastric sleeve?

They said weight loss surgery was not covered. is it possible it's an exclusion by my employer?

It might be as it is covered by my employer. If you don't have a copy of your medical policy, try setting up an account on their site using your insurance card info to see what is covered.
