Ok, so I thought I would breeze through this no problem. Woke up from surgery with massive dry heaving and pain. Found out that the Morphine was making me very nausiated. They changed me to di lauded and now massive gas pains. Wondering if I made the right decision. I just want to cry. Hurt so badly. I even have a second belly button from the swelling. Need encouragement.

Remember....every day gets better. Today is bad but tomorrow will be a little better. Get up and walk if you can. I promise it helps

I was sleeved on the 1st and was totally right where you are! IT DOES GET BETTER!! The dry heaving was horrible. I don't even remember much of the first day or so in the hospital! You'll be feeling better before you know it! Hang in there! I pray for a speedy recovery

I experienced the same thing...I weaned myself off everything. Started walking and felt much better...my only issue now dealing with wanting more than clear broth atleast tmrw I go to cloudy broth which will help the head hunger.

Good luck your doing great. I am down almost 20lbs in 2 weeks...

Stacy03 thank you. Yes, that first day is a blur. I was so out of it, and they kept asking me questions, like who my other insurance carriers were and phone number. I yelled at the guy, or at least my son says I did, calling him a stupid ass as I had changed both several times and why they couldn't get it right. I honestly don't even remember that conversation. How are you feeling now? Do you have pain where the main port was? I am in so much pain in the big incision every time I move. Sucks.

I had my surgery Tuesday, July 2nd. Went great, not a lot of complaints. The "food" is getting old already, and I'm at complete liquid til day 15 when I get to start stuff of applesauce consistency. I can't wait for the pain to subside so I can go exercise again. Other than that I feel like I am learning a new language!!

That's a great way to put it, Kary--it really is a new language. We're learning to speak "Sleevish", I guess! I'm not quite fluent yet, but I'm getting a little better at it each day. :D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
