I'm also a July sleever. I can't wait. It seems like it's taking forever. I know July can't get here fast enough. I am also Shari.

Hi Shari, thanks so much for posting. I totally understand when you say July can't come fast enough. I can't seem to concentrate on anything else but this surgery at the moment, so excited, there seems like there is finally some light at the end of a very dark long tunnel.. Shari what date is your surgery in July ? Lily :)

I don't have an exact date. So far they are telling me mid-July. Yes, it seems all I think about now. I'm an older sleever - 67. Was afraid they would tell me I'm too old! I've been obese for about 30 years. Of course, I've tried and lost and gained several times over the years. I really want to spend the rest of my life in the best health possible. Don't feel old yet and don't want to!

Newbee wants to know if anyone is from Michigan? Has anyone used Dr. Pleatman for surgery? If so, please share your experience. Thanks!

I believe my surgery will end up being in August also. In the process with all the tests and drs appointments now. My last appt with nutritionist is on Jul 15th. Just joined this site so haven't had time to add picture, etc. I originally was going to do the lap band but my doctor talked me out of it! I'm so excited - can't wait to get this done so that I can get that "helping hand" to get myself back in shape and able to live my life the way I want to again. My name's Terri and I'm from Columbia, South Carolina.

Hi all... I am Terry from NJ. I was sceduled for May 15, but I found.out during my Endo that I have "significant" ulcers. I have to deal with them. So now I am scheduled for July 17 - a little bumbed out but at least I will have time to rest in the summer...and take some nice walks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
