Liquid phase did yu cheat

Recommended Posts

Ugh I did. I was at a big party and they had a nacho station!! I had about a cup of shredded lettuce' date=' salt, and pepper. Omg it tasted sooo good. Then I felt so guilty. My doctor said I did really good because my liver was great :). Still felt guilty[/quote']

Actually this happen in my pre-op. sorry misread the title! Post op cheat --- hell no!! I would never want to hurt my new stomach! :)

I've added new foods as I could tolerate them. Yogurt, Jello, etc in week one, week 2 mushy foods, and now in the 3rd week I am eating a few solid foods but nothing too extreme. I learned what I couldn't tolerate pretty fast because it would make me feel bad. There's a lot of variation between on Dr and another. I think the trick is to take it slowly and add things one at a time and remember that the eating habits you develop post op are the ones that will follow you from now on and will dictate your weight loss and success.

If you're talking about pre op I did cheat once, but it was only a handful of air popped popcorn... I was super strict the last few days to make sure my stomach was nice and empty! I was allowed raw veggies and a small low carb meal with my shakes until a few days before surgery

I did, but it was kind of an unusual situation. I was feeling really fatigued and weak and I talked to my surgeon and he said I had to get Protein in period. Up to that point I had been getting less than 10g Protein daily from shakes and I had been back to work since my 3rd post op day. So it was pretty urgent.

Out of complete exhaustion of other options (my body did not tolerate the chemicals in the Protein Shakes whatsoever) I attempted an egg, and it went down perfectly with no problems. So today I tried some cottage cheese, again super mashed, tiny bites, chewed thoroughly, and again no problems. So I think my sleeve just doesn't dig Protein Shakes and I needed protein. But I wouldn't recommend that routinely. Everybody's a little different.

I hate the shakes other than nectar fuzzy navel made with Water. I add BA crystals also and drink it in the morning as my oj! I made it a 12 oz so I get about 40 grams of protein. If you are a NE Okie, I'd be happy to share some of my fuzzy navel and let you see if it is something you can tolerate

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
