Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Maybe it could be sort of a "jam" . . . . free-form, jazzy flatulence. Yeah, that would be great.
Oh boy! Just something more to look forward to! Hurry Jaime, get that Band, so you can join the Band on the Loser's Bench and make Puff Mama's musical dreams come true!
You mean like 'folk music?' Or "fart music?" "Bluegrass" OR "Bluegas?"

:cool2::w00t::smile:

Actually ladies, I am quite musical. However I'm not sure I could get my gas to actually beat out a rhythm (yes Dee, you spelled it right!). I'd be happy to join the band though! I can sing!

Yummy!!!

I wanted to share with you one of my current addictions. Flatout Bread! I am absolutely in love with it! 100 calories for the entire Multi-grain wrap, 2.5 grams of fat, 17 grams of carbs, 9 grams of Protein AND 5 grams of FIBER! It is so good! I make pizza with it, Breakfast burritos, veggie wraps, or I just put some almond butter and bananas on it and eat it! OH! I love it! I can’t eat the entire wrap, it’s too big, but every bite is so fulfilling!

Check out their website - then venture over to Cost Co and try it out! YUM YUM YUM! www.flatoutbread.com.

I copied this from my website. If you want to visit it, just click on the "yummy."

oooo, that sounds really good! I wonder if I could eat it? Since it has so much protein and Fiber, maybe the carbs would be okay.

Hi everyone!

I am proud to say that as of Weds, the 24th I am apart of the Dr. K Bandsters!! I have had some trouble with nausea but it is slowly going away. I never thought how weird my stomach would feel. It feels like someone is strangling my tummy. LOL

:cool2::thumbup::smile::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::w00t:

Welcome to the bench! Try a heating pad on the belly.

Sounds to me like you are the one keeping it going or you wouldn't have come back in here. If you were to read our posts I think that you will find we are ALL very focused on our weight loss and being healthy. You would also see how supportive we all are of each other. Wait, isn't that what this forum is all about?! I bet you run into conflict everywhere and never think it is you, huh?

Go Tally! Call it like you see it.

Hello everyone! I was banded today and thought I should "pop" in and let everyone know I'm doing great! Surgery was @ 9:00 and I was on my way home by 1:00. Amazing! I'm having a little bit of gas and some pain @ larger incision but other than that doing well. :w00t:

Welcome also to the bench! Glad you are doing so great.

Prty, my daughter and I looked up the Russia to Alaska distance. If you count the outer islands, it is 3 miles. If you count peninsula to peninsula it is 50 miles. Did you see the latest Tina Fay parody of the Katie Couric interview? lol!!!!!

Eat half and fill it with tuna or egg salad. I put it in the oven and make it like a cracker, then cover it with pizza sauce, turkey sausage, veggies and 2% cheese. It's a little pizza! So good! The carbs are pretty low and if you eat 1/2 of it, you should do okay. You truly should be able to eat 20 grams to 30 grams each meal and 15 grams each snack.< /p>

I did! Wow! I had no idea it was that close! That's amazing! How did I ever NOT know that? Being the Cliff Claven, that I am, I should have known that trivia! I love Tina and Amy! Did you see, "My Baby Mama?" It was so funny!!!

Tina is soooo funny as Sarah Palin. She just kills me. The only time I watch SNL anymore is during the elections. I just love their parodies. I still find myself doing Al Gore with his description of the Lock Box for social security.

Speaking of Al Gore, did you hear about that woman who broke one of those new light bulbs? They are filled with mercury. Anyway, she called 911 and they told her to call a Mercury Hazmat Team to clean up the mercury. She did and they did and she got a bill for $5000.00.

Nice, huh?

I am so happy to be here! The nausea has finally gone away. Yay!

I do have another question for you. This might me TMI so let me know. My surgery was the 24th and I haven't had a poop. Nothing. I don't even feel like I need to but I kind of have a dull pain on my lower left side. Have any of you felt this before? Is it Constipation?

Sorry for such a gross question!!

Mdargen! NOT TMI! We've all been there and NOT done that! Unfortunately, I purchased every OTC softener available to man and woman! AND not one worked. AT one time, I was putting Miralax in prune juice three times a day. Nothing! It was bad! Then I sent Natalie an email and she said to try a piece of fruit. I did and it worked! An apple, pear, grapes, anything like that works for me! So now, I try to eat a piece of ripe fruit everyday... sometimes, if I'm hungry twice a day. I also upped my fiber! I eat high fiber crackers and bread (toasted).

Good luck but know it's normal. You're not eating much!

Yes, sadly, it's normal. This is gross, but I MISS my pre-band regularity. Now I'm really irregular, constipated most of the time, etc. I think I didn't have a movement for a good week after surgery.

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
