Feel as though there is always something in my stomach and capable of coming up!

Recommended Posts

When I wake of each morning the first thing I do is brush my teeth and it doesn't take much for me to gag anymore, I always feel like there is something there and capable of coming up! Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal?

I have the same sensation in the morning. It's no painful, just obvious. I think it may be gas but no big burps happen. It seems to go away by noon.

It may be acid reflux. Check with your doc.

I have the same thing, but I'm just four days out. I hope it goes away soon for both of us. The only thing that seems to help is a sugar-free mint.

Omg I'm so glad this was asked! As soon as I wake up I take my Multivitamin, protonix and bp med with maybe half a cup of Water and almost immediately I feel nauseated. It happens even if I wait to take my meds too. I don't get it. It goes away after I start moving around for a bit, just wonder why.

I got sleeved on the 11 of march. I have been throwing up ever since now it's getting worse. Im so sad I did this . I really feel not normal. . I'm so thirsty and my throat has been burning since yesterday .

I can't seem to hold anything down to long. I have lost 20-22 pounds so far but if you have to feel like this I rather be fat. I get so paranoid with these noises gurgling sounds from my stomach and throat.

Im really regretting this smh. Please someone help me

It could be stomach acid. I had it & was unaware of what it was. My Dr gave me a script & now it's controlled.

Um, if I was throwing up that much I would call my dr ASAP! You could get dehydrated and that could lead to other problems.

Yes please call your Dr. ASAP. I've only been sleeved 3 days but I know that throwing up is not good. It's hard enough to keep hydrated but throwing up will deplete your hydration. I had the lap band and I threw up on a regular basis until it prolapsed & I couldn't hold down Water.

Call your Dr & make sure to be compliant because you don't want to hurt yourself.

Def get ahold of your doc. Could be a lot of things.

MrsG, try taking all that with a Protein drink or milk instead of Water on an empty stomach. Works wonders for me.

I think I figured out my own problem. I have been taking reflux medicine for years and I have continued to take that post op. I have been sip, sip, sipping up until I go to sleep. Last night I didn't lay down for like 45 minutes after I finished sipping and this morning no problems - and mind you that was at maybe 3:00 A.M. So I am going to have to try and get my fluids in faster. Any suggestions because when I drink to fast it hurts?

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
