Was able to eat 2 hard shell tacos today... Is that considered a lot?

I'm 5 weeks out and the only real craving I've had is for a crunchy taco! One of these days I'm gonna have to get one and savor it!

Those TB tacos are mostly air. :)

A tablespoon of "meat" and a sprinkle of cheese. I want a real California taco. The kind they put the shredded beef in and then fry, then pry open and put lettuce, cheese and tomatoes in. But I cannot eat lettuce yet. So I wait. I do not think I could eat a soft taco made with a flour tortilla. I tried a bit of one and it did not agree with my tummy at all. I ate a crispy corn chip and it was clear that I will have to avoid them. They went down too easy. But I think a real crispy shredded beef taco is definitely in my future. With hot sauce.

One of my go-to meals is a cheese quesadilla (sometimes with chicken, sometimes not) - I use one of those soft taco sized Carb Balance tortillas and 1/4 cup of cheese. I fry it up really good with that fake butter spray and I'm totally satisfied.

If I could eat 2 full tacos in 15 minutes, I'd be setting up an appointment with my surgeon IMMEDIATELY to find out why! I don't actually know why someone who was sleeved 8 weeks ago would even ATTEMPT to eat that much but each to their own.

I was sleeved on January 14. Starting weight was 277 and weight today is 255. I don't understand what all the "confessions" are about? Why is it not okay to eat a snickers every once in a while or have the fish from McDonald's? I've eaten whatever I want and still lose a pound every day. I'm so confused about why everyone thinks you can NEVER have sugar, caffeine, carbs, or fat again? That's probably why everyone's hair is falling out??! Eat a healthy diet but be realistic! If you want one piece of cheesecake (which u prob can't eat every bite of anyways) then eat one!

Don't be such a hypocrite... .

Did a quick search and a TB taco is 2.6oz... 5.2oz for the 2 I ate which isn't really a lot.

I took a job offer in San Francisco about 6 years ago...lived there for 3 years. This taco truck would swing into my job site everyday and make these deep fried tacos. They were fried with potatoes and beef then opened up and filled with lettuce, sour cream and a home made salsa. The best mexican food I have ever eaten came off that food truck.

Hey I've done really well, down 110lbs in 4 months. While mentally I'm okay saying I can "have a muffin" I'm still not going to eat it. Though I'll admit I had one small chocolate chip cookie last week after the wife baked a batch. You would have thought it would be delicious but I've gone so long without sweets that it was sickly sweet and kinda gross.

Now what I do love and seem to have for like 10 meals a week is some of my fantastically awesome homemade chili. Even though I'm past the point of needing things the consistency of chili it just tastes good, goes down easy, meets the diet requirements, etc. Strangely enough I did try to a soft taco with a flour tortilla and that was difficult. Corn chips/tortillas are not a problem but the flour went down kinda hard, felt like a rock in my stomach for a good 30 minutes. I can't imagine what that muffin would do!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
