My date is 6-29-13!! Looking forward to cheering/supporting/ranting/etc...with all of you June sleevers! It just helps to talk things out with a group of people going thru the same thing and know your not being judged. My goal is to know more about VSG than my doctor lol...OCD kicking in ;)

I had appointment 5 of 6 today. My last appointment is May 13th. The only thing missing (that I know of) is the letter of medical necessity from my primary care doctor. He is working on it. I am planning to have everything ready so the paperwork can be submitted on the 13th or 14th. I spoke with a nurse at Meritain, my insurance company, and she stated that once all the paperwork is received, they should have an answer in 2 days. I'm cautiously optimistic. I do know that my surgeon is scheduling about a month out. That would put me around June 18th, I'm hoping. I have this all worked out. Now if everyone will just do everything on my time frame, it will be perfect:) Keep your fingers crossed. I'm praying. My gallbladder has started acting up and I just need it to hang in there until surgery. I do NOT want 2 surgeries when I can get both done at the same time.

Hi everyone!

Like Diva1, I'm also a teacher so I'm waiting until June. That will make this a year long journey!!! I started the process with one group last June, then decided to switch surgeons. Then I decided to wait until the end of the school year!! While I know that was the right decision, sometimes I feel like it's never going to happen.

I've done all the pre-op testing so I just have to wait another two weeks then the nurse coordinator said they'll start the process with insurance. I am aiming for June 26.

I see my surgeon on May 13th and will get my date then. The coordinator said he usually schedules for 4-6 weeks out so I'm a June sleever too! This process has been 15 months in the making with two insurance denials. I'm ready to start my new life!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
