Yay for all of you! I too finally feel like my sizes are going down. I was squeezing myself into stuff that was 1 to 2 sizes too small before so it has taken a while. But I bought a bunch of Old Navy stuff in a regular XL instead of the plus size. I am only getting a few things because I know I will continue to go down. I am so anxious to get near to my goal so I can really shop. I literally have not shopped for more than a couple of pieces of clothing in probably 10 years. (My MOM was giving me stuff that she didn't want or didn't fit - and she is plus size). It is so fun to start thinking about what to wear instead of just throwing something on.

In the meantime I have had success at the Goodwill store - $3 for jeans and capris, not a bad deal!

Goodwill rocks! I got some beautiful gray slacks for $6.99- and the tag was still on them from Coldwater Creek @ $64.99!!

It's official!....I no longer need to shop at Lane Bryant! I was in Nordstrom Rack today with a friend and where do I head as soon as I walk in the door - PLUS SIZES! And then I picked out about 10 tops in a 1x...my friend kept telling me - you are NOT a plus size anymore! But in my mind I still am (was) and I took the clothes to the dressing room. YEP - they were all too big! And shockingly not just by a little! I was shocked and very surprised! Do you mean to tell me that I can go back to looking and shopping in "regular" stores! Talk about a great day and incredible NSV!!!!! Wwwoooooooo-hooooooooo!

I can still shop at lane Bryant but in a brave show of commitment and solidarity to the cause I have unsubscribed from their promotional emails. Im not buying any significant clothing until i get to a size 14ish. Until then Walmart will have to do.

I have been a loyal LB shopper for about 10 years. BUT...

The ladies at the LB near me are serious snobs. This has been ongoing for 3 years. and i ignore it because whats a chubby girl to do? when I went in 2 months ago I was so irritated at their behavior that i emailed corporate to complain. I went back last month because i am desperate for a pair of dress pants. They no longer carry ANY petites in their store.

Thats it!!! This short girl is spending her $$ somewhere else!!!

I am now an 18. I will find clothes. But never again will it be LB

Lane Bryant prices are insane!

AMEN!... but their sales are AWESOME! I won't buy anything there unless I can get it under ten bucks. I'm out of clothes and just got 9 tops and two bottoms for $82.00. I am currently a comfortable 22/24 and I got sizes 14-20 so I have at least SOMETHING to shrink into! I'm big into shopping at the thrift store but the clearance prices at LB are insane.. Not ALL LB stores have these super low clearance items though. They usually consolidate all their clearance into one store in the area.

Love this!!! It was a good feeling when I could ditch that over priced place forever!

More and more I realize Lane Bryant clothes are just going to be too big for me. Last time I was in there was about a month ago. Its the only store credit card I have too. I wonder if any regular sized stores are in their credit card network?

So jealous...can't wait to stop paying the crazy prices Lane Bryant charges. Congrats on the new smaller you :)

I agree! and I think that was just as shocking was to see that a top or sweater was $30, not $60!!! LB is expensive, but they know they have the market on the most decent, stylish plus sizes!!!

You;ll be there soon! :)

Lane Bryant and Torrid have been able to rip me off for years, now. Torrid a clothes are just as expensive as LB but they're even crappier in quality; they won't last.

I wish there was a plus size retailer that was fashion conscious that didn't take advantage of larger shoppers who don't have other options for semi-decent clothing.

Ugh, I can't wait to be free of them! :)

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
