Bye-bye Lane Bryant!

  • Popular Post

It's official!....I no longer need to shop at Lane Bryant! I was in Nordstrom Rack today with a friend and where do I head as soon as I walk in the door - PLUS SIZES! And then I picked out about 10 tops in a 1x...my friend kept telling me - you are NOT a plus size anymore! But in my mind I still am (was) and I took the clothes to the dressing room. YEP - they were all too big! And shockingly not just by a little! I was shocked and very surprised! Do you mean to tell me that I can go back to looking and shopping in "regular" stores! Talk about a great day and incredible NSV!!!!! Wwwoooooooo-hooooooooo!

Smaller sizes are an amazing feeling. Today I was able to shop in 3 regular stores. I have not done that, for me, in over 30 years. I was a size 24 last summer and I am an 18W today. Good thing my grocery bill is so small; I am spending the money on new clothes. I am feeling better every day.

I am in the same spot! What a great feeling! I skipped size 16 completely and went right into 14.

That is awesome!!!

That's awesome! Congratulations to you all! :)

Congratulations!! That must be such a great feeling!

I'm sure when I get there I'll be the one crying in the change room in disbelief.

Lock up the credit cards lol ;-)

Such a wonderful feeling! I felt the exact same way when just last week I had to go shopping so I had something to wear to a 4 day training class I'm in this week. I did all my shopping at Banana Republic and Ann Taylor. Breezed right by Lane Bryant. I've never been so happy. Also cleaned out my closet of everything that was too big for me, hence the reason for the shopping trip. I literally had no business casual type clothes that fit.

This has also been a big hope/goal for me. I have recently been able to order the larger sizes at the Gap, and I just love their dress pants for work. I'm thinking goodbye to LB too!

Congratulations on your success! I see we have similar starting numbers and goals!

Ok girls don't jump ship so fast!! LB runs out of mid sizes quickly, and you can find "smaller" sizes on clearance! I just ordered 18's, all on deep discount!

Yay for all of you! I too finally feel like my sizes are going down. I was squeezing myself into stuff that was 1 to 2 sizes too small before so it has taken a while. But I bought a bunch of Old Navy stuff in a regular XL instead of the plus size. I am only getting a few things because I know I will continue to go down. I am so anxious to get near to my goal so I can really shop. I literally have not shopped for more than a couple of pieces of clothing in probably 10 years. (My MOM was giving me stuff that she didn't want or didn't fit - and she is plus size). It is so fun to start thinking about what to wear instead of just throwing something on.

In the meantime I have had success at the Goodwill store - $3 for jeans and capris, not a bad deal!
