Don't panicked' date=' you will be fine. Just had my gastric sleeve done Feb 20th. And I'm feeling good.[/quote']

I'm trying not to get panicked but this is like the biggest life change that I've had so far. I'm only 19 lol

Follow your doctor's instructions. Get up and walking as soon as you can after surgery. Focus on your milestones not your set backs. Good luck, you'll do great! :)

Just do as YOUR dr says...don't get caught up in the different things others say cause all of our dr's are different! Just do what yours says & call them if you have any questions or problems...other then that, you will be so glad you took this step!

The first 24 hours will be the roughest but it gets exponentially better day two and by day 4 you will hardly feel a thing other than full! Just get through day one!

I was sleeved on 2/26. First few days was rough...mostly gas though and the more your walk the better. It is uncomfortable to walk around when your bloated with gas but it helps to work it out. Remember to sip your liquids too! All in all it was so worth it and i would do it again. I'm 11 days post op and I already feel so much better and almost back to normal again. I'm also 20 lbs down! You'll do just fine!! Just follow your doctors orders, walk and sip!! :)

Just remember this process takes time, listen to your Dr,do not be afraid to ask for something for pain, with me i had a pain pump, and it work wonders, get up and move as soon as the Dr. clear you, walk around the nurses station at lease every two hours.most of all say a prayer before you go in,you will be ok..

Make sure you do exactly what your Dr. tells you. Follow instructions to the letter, don't try to rush things. Please make sure you enjoy your journey, every pound lost, every inch lost and even when there's a stall, sit back and think about all you have done and enjoy.

You'll do great!! This will be the best decision you will ever make for yourself. This forum is here for support, so use it. There are NO stupid questions.

I took Gas-X strips for the gas pain. I don't know if they helped or not. I wish I had packed extra PJ's (I was in Mexico).

The gas is in your abdomen, so gas X won't help but the more you move the more it's able to get into your blood stream and expelled! I never even noticed the gas!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
