was sleeved March 7th. I feel like I'm doing well. My eye sight is blurry. My incisions do burn. Gas is still working its way out. I too am a big Water drinker so its hard to just sip. I gained 10 pounds since surgery. I am going to stay off the scale till my next dr.s appoint. It is not a good feeling to step on the scale and see that gain. But I know its just the way it is.

What is unjury broth that everyone is talking about.

I cant handle my Protein powder! It smells so nasty to me. I also need a ready to drink one because the blender adds so much bubble to it. Idk which one to get.

I buy the premixed premiere Protein from costco. It's worked for me!

I was sleeved on Thursday, they had trouble finding a vein to put the IV cannula into so I was punctured three times in the left arm before surgery and woke up with an IV cannula in my right arm but I also had a bruise near that cannula so I know they tried and failed to insert one there as well. I've also had 4 blood test done due to getting cellulitis in my left hand so I was prescribed antibiotics to help with the inflammation. I've also been given potassium given to me which really hurt going in besides that I've also been given anti nausea medication, anti reflux medication

However, on the upside I've been sleeping well had little to no gas pain and well being going home tomorrow

I drink the protien shots. They are a bit to sweet but I work it out. I am so bloated with this gas. I just want to get through this week. Who said they lost 35 pounds already. WOW. I want that to be me. I lost 8 in the week pre op diet but I gained 10 during the stay at the hopital.

Where do I find this powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury broth. Does it have protien is that why it good to drink it?

It hurts to sit stand and lay down too. I found a position and took a 2 hour nap. I can't wait to feel better.

I had my surgery on the 5th and the Isopure Protein Drinks have been a lifesaver! I'm still working on hitting the minimum Fluid and Protein intake. I need at leat 40 grams of protein and 42oz of fluids. This is harder than I thought it would be but I'm going to do it!

Sleeved on Monday, the gas pains are getting better, although the minute I take a sip of Water they start, only with water. I can drink tea and broth. I'm seriously thinking about jumping ahead to some creme soap. I can't so tired of the tea, water, broth. I don't like most favored stuff so popcisles or Jello aren't an option. My diet says clear foods for day 1-7 but reading here, tree seems to be some latitude depending on different doctors. I haven't been able to get pass 36-40 oz a day yet.. Amazingly enough I had a small bowel movement this morning. Who'd thought I'd get so excited over something like that.. I guess I needed visible proof that everything is functioning as its supposed to be.

I had my sleeve on the 6th and all went well, not to bad on the pain but the gas has been terrible. I have had 3 watery bowel movement which have made me very careful, I to have learned to never trust a fart. I have been having a hard time getting my protien and Water but I think that with time and research we will all get very creative. Good luck to all!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
