so glad I don't have to do a liquid diet pre op

I totally feel for all of you having to do weeks of a liquid pre-op diet. I don't think I could do it. I am panicked about having to do it post op but then it won't be a choice. I will just have to do it. I have all my protein pwders and vitamins all ready to go. I cant even bring myself to taste one of the drinks. I am also enjoying having lunch with all of my friends every day this week. I am being good too. I have lost 16 pounds since January 10th and making good choices every day. The doctor called today and asked my weight to make sure I lost enough and maintaining it. I was 223 in January and 207 today. Surgery is on Tuesday. I don't even have a liquid diet on Monday. Just no eating or drinking after midnight. So freaking excited. So glad to read mosy people sleeved in Feb and March are doing well. Really makes me feel better about my decision!

I'll have to do a week of 3-4 protein shakes a day plus one small sensible meal before the surgery. Since I often do a protein shake for breakfast now, it's not a huge big deal except that I won't be adding any fruit or milk to the shake - right now I usually add 6 oz of 1% and 1/4 cup of something like blueberries or cherries. I could optionally add some fruit or some milk and reduce the calories for the small meal, but I think I'll just get several flavors of protein drinks and tough it out. I might as well start getting used to it!

I didn't have to do the pre-op liquid diet either, nor did I have to lose before surgery...hell, I even gained a few lbs! I honestly don't think I could've done it either!:-/
