I had my sleep study test last night. They did not come in and place a Ccap (??) machine on me. The doc said if they did, that was a sure sign I had sleep apnea. However, the tech when he came into my room at 5:30 am, he was taking all the garb off of me and then he said he really couldn't discuss my test with me, however, he did tell me not to be surprised if I have to come back for further test before the surgery. He then asked if I felt I didn't get to sleep, and I said kinda. So not sure what it all means, but then as I was leaving, he again stressed to me to be prepared to come back.:)

I went home, took a shower, washed my hair twiced, and I just got to work and realized that I still have some of the goop in my hair. weird. No one can see it, but I know its there and it will probably bug me all day.

Be back later ----------

I was banded yesterday around 9am. So far so good. The dreaded gas pains lasted until about 9pm. I walked a lot around the house which seemed to really help. I was unable to sleep in the bed as I was having what felt like muscle spasms in my stomach. Had a fairly restless night but overall this morning I feel good. I am tolerating water/jello/popsicles well and hope this continues. I hope everyone else is doing as well.

Hello, My name is Tonya (Hi Tonya) and I am a Lab Band Talk/January Bandsters addict. I need help! lol

Seriously, you guys are the best, and it is so helpful to get online and read about the experiences in surgeries, and how well everyone is doing.

Today our surgeries on the list are: Klo, Wph74, Agelburch, Mindful - I think that is all - so lets all keep them in our thoughts today. I know they will be great! We had lots of surgeries on Monday & Tuesday, so I'm anxious to hear from all of them as well.

Okay - I really must get to work!

Sunshine,

I'm scheduled for surgery on the 16th in Monterray, MX. I'm thankful for this website as it has allayed some of my fears and concerns. I do check in regularly so I'm wondering about the addiction thing.

Hi,

I am in the same boat as you, been fighting a sore throat since before Christmas and laryngitis. My surgery was supposed to be January 16th and my doctor wouldn't give me clearance so my surgery is postponed. She now wants me to get on my antibiotics, get my sugar levels down and have a colonoscopy (yuck)....I'm so disappointed because of all the changes that had to take place. My son was coming out from Las Vegas to be with me and now he's not sure what to do because he already purchased plane tickets and pre-paid for a car. But I have to do what I have to do for this body of mine.

I suggest you call your doctor before you leave. Drink plenty of fluids, take zinc for that sore throat and try not to talk too much.

Your lapbander friend,

Reesh

Hey Sunshine, you're doing a great job. Thanks. While peeking in on one of the other threads, I saw that they are also tracking each other's weight loss with the surgery dates. If you like, when I return to work next week, I can help you make a list like this and update it.

That would be GREAT! Also, since you started this thread, maybe you could go to your very first post, edit it, and add the list to that. That way we can keep the same list, and keep it updated with weight loss, surgery dates, etc. Just a suggestion. I think you can edit your post at any time, but not sure.

Okay...we've all, as our dates draw closer (or drew closer - for those banded), discussed our emotional state of being.

Well I need to know how strange I am...meaning, am I the only one that feels like a kid right before the family leaves on vacation to Disney... I can't sit still. I've got a lot of excited energy that is driving me crazy...

I'll admit, I was a little nervous last week...but this week, with my surgery less then 48 hours away...I'm bouncing off the walls. I should have just took today and all of tomorrow (I'm working a half of a day) off. I didn't because I knew I'd be like this, but this is ridiculous...my attention span is non-existent. And, I too can't stay off of this site.... LOL

I'm hoping I can follow in the footsteps of several of you who are banded and get my sedative a little early...like today!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
