No undies, and written surgery instructions were not to shave. I think they did that for us.

The Catheter goes in after you're out right????? Lol

Mine went in an out while I was knocked out. That was an expirience I could totally do without.

I didn't have a catheter for my surgery but when I was wheeled into my room I noticed I was wearing a fabric gown and I had gone into surgery with a thick paper like one. Yeah, here I am with incisions all over my stomach right after surgery and I was distressed to learn that I had been naked on the table while they changed my gown! Lol! Crazy.

no underwear during surgery but that does not translate to needing a wax unless that's what you normally do anyway.

I shaved but that is my usual choice for grooming. It will be a week or so before you feel like shaving your legs and whatever other business you usually attend to so do it the night before surgery if you are going to.

Just trimmed. No underwear and they didn't insert a catheter. That's why after they have me 2 IV's of Fluid I had to get up and go to the restroom several times. I was worried I would pee on the table but I did well.

It's amazing how everyone's experience was different. I never received a Catheter, after waking up, they had me walking, and using the restroom with assistance from the nurse of course; because I was still kind of out of it..

I trimmed like normal. After having 2 kids I can care less what the lady bits look like to a Dr. They are professional, they've seen it all. It's really no biggie, just something we like to worry ourselves about.

I'm the same. I never had a catheter & I was up walking within a few hours. I came out of surgery about 4ish then once I finally woke up properly about 7ish I was walking around everywhere, I even had a shower at midnight. Some people used heaps of drugs to but I apparently pressed the button only 5 times & had all pain meds removed the next day!

I must say that when the put the catheter in me it was will I was out. And they took it out when I was out after the surgery.. I too was up and walking after waking up and they were trying to get me to pee. The only reason I knew I had one is because they told me if I wasn't able to pee soon they would have to put it back in!! 0_o

I think my will helped me speed things up for me, I was so sick of being fat I just kept pushing. One year on I've now dropped 49kg & am now working on slowing the weight loss down!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
