I'll most likely be getting there early afternoon - how about you?

Pre op diet isn't so bad - haven't really noticed in weightloss - but then again I've refused to weigh myself!!! LOL!!! How's it going for you?

Well actually I just started yesterday...,,, yikes!!!! But so far so good. I get there friday afternoon. R u nervous. I'm so nervous I've had a migraine for the past 2 days and my neck feels so stiff. Lol I'm just being a chicken.

Oh yes...nervous, excited, scared and everything in between!!!

The first 3 days I started the pre op diet I had a huge migraine but that's normal considering I started the diet without easing into it!!

I can't wait to get down there and get everything done!!!!

Just an update, with some key points I forgot to mention.

I am now down 45 pounds since the start of my weight loss journey. My surgery was two weeks ago today. I still have some soreness around where the drain tube was, but the rest of my incisions are healing remarkably well.

I have had lymphedema for years. In the two weeks since surgery I have noticed a huge decrease in the swelling in my legs.

In my previous post I said I was eating Protein bars to get in my protein, I would not recommend pushing what you eat too fast. Try to stick with the liquids as long as possible. Try using the shakes if you aren't getting the protein you need.

Remember to drink your Water, and get out and move. Walk lots if you can.

I have spoken to many friends and they are a great support group. It is important to see out others in your community who have also had weight loss surgery that you can talk to, and get feedback and info from. These boards are great, but there is no substitution for a one on one conversation.

1. Make sure the person traveling with you gets some pesos. The cafeteria in the hospital doesn't accept US money.

2. There is a shopping mall across the street from the hospital, but be careful crossing the street. It is at least two to three lanes on each side, and always busy.

3. There was a shooting in front of the hospital while I was there, but I always felt safe inside the hospital.

Less than 3 days and still going nuts!!! HaHa!!! Can't wait though!!!

I feel ya!!! I'm also going nuts. I'm so nervous!!! Have they told u what time ur surgery is gonna be at??

  • Author

No.. All they told me, when I asked, was that it depends on comorbidities.

Did you find any parking by the Airport? Found a couple online but not sure what's the best!

Oh ok. Who's been helping you?? A lady named Joyce is helping me. How do I reserve a parking? What r u gonna be taking?

  • Author

Wow small world - I've been working with Joyce to!!! Well Fast track has covered parking so thinking about using them - I googled long term parking at El Paso airport and found it - 7.95 a day. :)
