    Any March Sleevers?

Was sleeved on the 12th Ive also had no issues with anything I've eaten. I don't let myself get "full". I jst measure out 1/4-1/2 cup of food, or 3-4 ounces. I choose protein first, then carbs if I still want something but normally I don't. Last night we went to Olive Garden, I got the mussels appetizer and ate a little less than half of them. I think about 7 mussels.
  5. Bigdaddyjoe! Fancy seeing you here lol that's a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, im very happy with 6 pounds a week...that adds up quickly!! Patience is def key! And im REALLY glad to have this group of ppl who know what im going through, and can talk to about anything! I know my family gets tired of hearing it, and they can sympathize but not empathize, and empathy is what I need lol

    Any March Sleevers?

Only lost 2 pounds this past week its that's "3 week stall" everyone talks about. 18 lbs total. That doesn't sound like a lot to me for what I've been through and for how little im eating. I know it will keep coming off and 18 pounds is actually good for 3 weeks. Its my rational vs my emotional. The GREAT thing, however, is that I can't just say "screw it" and eat myself into oblivion like I could pre op. And I know that it'll come off. One way or another, fast or slow...it WILL come off. I just need to be patient, get the protein and water in, and start exercising more!!

    Any March Sleevers?

Wow newat52 you're doing great! I was sleeved on the 12th, still struggling to get enough protein and water. I have 3 small babies at home so I am very busy and don't really have time to "sip" all day but im doing what I can. You're eating way more than I am (not saying that in a bad way or negative AT ALL) so that's one reason im not getting in the protein. The shakes make me want to puke but im just making myself down them. I make them super small (one scoop in 2.5 oz) so I can get it over with quickly.

    Any March Sleevers?

Deeda I had the protein shots, threw them away. They made me gag they were so horrible! Since its not all whey protein, its a mix of collagen whey and casein, your body isn't going to absorb it very well. But, its better than nothing in the first few days if that's all you have and if you can stomach them!

    Any March Sleevers?

Yeah I can eat the "soft" diet now which includes fish, chicken, eggs, and pasta. But im eating VERY small amounts VERY slowly. I have, however, decided to try to eat mostly soups and yogurt for a little while longer. I haven't had any pains or anything though other than that one time w the chicken from eating it too fast.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hey everyone! I am now 15 days post op. Everything is going great with me! Im still not getting in all the protein but that's my new goal for this week! Im doing "Ok" getting in water. Not quite as much as I need but close. Starting working out yesterday (brisk uphill walk, was sweating bad and couldn't breathe after quarter of a mile, so I stopped but I know each day will get easier and I will be able to go further in a shorter time). I've lost 16 pounds as of yesterday, that's more than a pound a day I hope since im losing kind of slowly I wont hit that 3 week stall this week, esp since im going to up my protein and my workouts. A note to sleeves who haven't found out yet...when they say eat slow they mean eat SLOOOOW. I had some chicken for lunch, half a grilled finger. It went down fine w no probs. I decided to eat some more for supper but evidently I ate too fast. Had TERRIBLE pains in my chest and about 15 mins later threw up some white froth. Known as "frothing" or "sliming". It was gross and painful. So please, eat slower than slow and it can be avoided.

Thistlegirl I had to leave my 8 yr old, 2 yr old, and 11 month old twins for 4 days. I totally know what you're going through. Its very tough, but you're doing it so she can have a happier healthier mommy. Just be strong!!

Missmeow im exactly the same way. Not meeting protein goals yet. I know I will when I can actually eat some meat. The sweetness is killing me right now (the shakes)

    Any March Sleevers?

Missmeow me too! I can drink a fair amount at one time. Maybe an ounce and a half or 2 ounces every 10 or 15 mins. I don't do that ALL day. But I can drink a few swallows with no pain or any negative feelings. Should I not do it even though im having no problems?

    Any March Sleevers?

Everything else was making me gag! I couldn't stand any more yogurt or protein shakes. I had to have something different, besides soup. Ugh. But yeah I can go to "soft" diet Monday so I figured a scrambled egg wouldn't hurt me this close to that time. And soft foods include fish and chicken and pasta (chewed very well)...so I rlly don't think an egg will do any damage.

    Any March Sleevers?

I ate a scrambled egg yesterday for the first time and im 1 week and 5 days out. It was divine! So sick of liquids and soups and sweet stuff!!! Could only eat about 1/2 or 3/4 of it though lol

I love the little organic pouches of babyfood. They seem so much more pure, and they have some really unusual flavor combos that are new and just work.

    Any March Sleevers?

I think there is a part of our brain, maybe subconscious or maybe you are aware of it...I think we get surgery and expect to wake up skinny in the next week. We focus on the numbers bc we expect to be losing in huge chunks every few days. After all, we DID get our stomachs cut out. Its discouraging to not see the scale moving as fast as we thought. Im not losing as fast as I thought I would...but I know that every little bit adds up, esp over say a 6 month period. It took me YEARS to get this big...so if I can un-do in months what I did in years I will be happy. We all need to keep the BIG PICTURE in mind. 6 months is NOTHING in the scheme of life, and when it comes we will all be totally different people. Just hang in there, stay off the scale so much, and do what you're supposd to be doing. It WILL happen. How could it not???

Dr rodriguez was 6800 in juarez. Totally worth it with his credentials and the hospital credentials.
  24. How about pureeing it with some tomato and plain yogurt for a bisque type soup? Could add cheese on top and let melt.
