I'm in LV and am seeing Dr Atkinson Friday for my initial consult!! I'm excited!!!!

Good for you you will like him he's great. Him and Dr Soong are the best in my opinion. And the staff there are so nice and most have had surgeries so they are knowledgeable.

Those with Dr Atkinson:

How soon after your consult did you get your surgery date? Jessie said ill meet with a surgery coordinator after my appt but I'm trying to work around the timeline of everything. Especially since I'm paying cash...

I think mine was about 2 weeks. I payed in cash as well, & it seemed like process was very quick. I started seriously pursuing the process in September & had surgery early November. BEST thing I've ever done!

Vegas here too. I had surgery 12/14/12 and went through the o band center. They also have monthly support groups.

I had a great experience! I'm down 48 lbs! I got a lot of support and information through this forum. It is scary but you'll do great! Good luck! Two months will just fly by!! :)

I going through oband too...2 more months...how was it kinda scared....

2 more months of nutrition counseling or 2 more months until surgery?

I have my appt Friday and should get my date then!

Thank you....for getting back...everyday i think im getting closer..and scared.but thank god for this forum....i see way more positive and neg....keep up THE GREAT WORK..CANT WAIT...TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE..SHOWING MY BEFORE AFTER PICS

Thanks! Jessie said 2 weeks after my appt but that scares me lol!! I'm not afraid to have the procedure done or anything... It just seems to be moving so fast!

It can seem overwhelming at the end but just concentrate on the new you on the other side and it won't seem so bad.

Thanks! My appt is at 230 tomorrow and I hope to schedule the first week of March! I will let y'all know!!

I am getting excited!!

I have noticed a lot more "body issues" now that I know I'm doing something to make myself better. Anyone else notice a spike in lack of self confidence/esteem prior to surgery?

The surgery coordinator was out of the office today!! That means I have to wait all weekend to get my date!! Dang it! :)

As far as the self confidence thing before surgery . . . I was just breezing along with no problems UNTILL I got into the dressing room the morning of surgery. They wanted me to put on compression stockings that were about as big as my pinky. That was a no go! Then I couldn't bend over to get on the little slipper socks. The final indignity was a hospital gown that ONLY covered my front and left my ass swinging in the breeze! I sat down and cried like a baby. The only thing going through my mind was "I can't do this. I just can't do this!" After my initial breakdown and panic attack my rational, common sense side took over and I was able to continue. The nurses were great! Got me a bigger gown and put the socks on for me. Almost 3 months and 50 pounds later, I'm putting on my own socks and my self confidence is through the roof!!! Hang in there girl. This will be the best gift you could ever give yourself!

Lisa :)
