Incisions Itchy & Red - see photo

My incisions are dry and healed... but it looks like there is a red ring around it and it is super super itchy! It's so bad I can't even sleep. Is anyone else having this issue? I will see md on Friday but for the meantime I don't know what else to do. I Tried lotion, vit e, baby oil, hydrocortisone but didn't work. any advise? Thanks!

Ouch. Could it be some kind of allergic reaction? Maybe an antihistamine? Can't get into the docs sooner?

I'm with Dean... I had surgery 3 weeks ago today and my incisions never looked like that.... I don't think it's an infection as they would typically have pain associated with it. But it does looks like an allergy to something. I'd try to see the dr. sooner

Possibly an adhesive allergy?

Go back to see your surgeon. That looks bad.

Yikes! I sent him an email and left voicemail to see me as soon as possible! I hope it's just allergies ;( and nothing serious. Please please please let it be okay.

I agree with onzeefence. But if its itchy u must go to doc Asap. Do not put anything but mild soap and Water. Good luck!

Don't stress. They've healed up fine, I'm sure it's nothing serious. You just want to get in ASAP because I'm sure it's driving you mad :)

Hi Misty! Congrats on your surgery!!!!

I too had a reaction to the strips, mine left me with red bumps everywhere.

Make an appointment with your PCP and they can prescribe you a steroid cream for it. I used one and poof, all better :)

Hi Seriously! I am glad to hear I am not alone..and as I looked into it, there's a lot of allergies from dermabond glue. It looks like i had an allergic reaction too, and i emailed Md already to see me sooner. Thanks for all your replies! I hope you're doing well!

Hey guys! I am so happy that the surgeon said it was an allergic reaction only. It seems like a lot of people had this reaction. 1% hydrocortisone cream is what he prescribed. Thanks for all your advise! You guys are awesome!
