Starting pre-op diet today (1200 cal's a day). Surgery is scheduled for 2/22. Only have physical and final blood work to do. The EGD left me with a sore throat, which only lasted two days. Hard to concentrate on anything else.

You are so right about that, every since I started this journey this is all i can think . I eat sleep and breather Gastric Sleeve....It doesn't get any better the closer the date get, you get excited also....Best wishes with your surgery

I purchased Unjury chicken Soup flavored and unflavored; I warmed up chicken broth and added the Unjury chicken soup flavored to it; It will clump, work through it with the spoon then let it sit for a minute or so to fully dissolve. I like it much better this way than with Water. It is what is getting me through. :) Last week before I started liquid phase i mised unflavored with yogurt which was good.... Learned the hard way, scrape yogurt out into a bowl so that mixing the Protein Powder in well is easier. :)

Will try that...thanks :)

Im one week away from my sleeve. Nervous as heck. Has anyone received answers about possible leakage after surgery?

I'm scheduled Feb 19. On day sixth day of liquid diet. It is tough but I find I'm already feeling good because I'm not eating crap and losing some weight. Yes it is tough when the rest of the family is eating 'reg' food but I'm keep thinking that this is not a sprint to better health its a marathon. Good Luck Lizzy0827!

I'm on Feb 19 as well... Yesterday the family whe to an Italian restaurant and it was rough only drinking Soup while everyone else has pastas, cheeses, wine, etc... Flowing right in front of you. But ur right u do feel good and the added weight loss is a plus.

That's a good question. I asked my surgeon the same question. He replied that leakage is very rare, and only occurs in 1 to 3% of all patients. Apparently, your stomach is placed in a sterile bag during the process. This insures that there are no remnants left in your chest cavity. After the procedure has been completed, air is pumped into your stomach. At this time the surgeon can check for leaks...this process is similar to how you find a link in a bicycle inner tube...placing it under Water and looking for bubbles. He told me the procedure won't end until the entire stomach is inspected for leaks.

Hey all! I'm sorry for those of you that i have not sent an invite to for the February 2013 Sleevers group! i have been super busy, and now I have just had 4 teeth cut out by an oral surgeon so I am just taking it easy. There is a way to join the group without me sending you an invite.

if you are using VST from your computer there is a tab on your main screen that says "Commuinity" then click the tab that says "Social Groups" a box that is titled "Group Search" will be on the right side and then where it says "Group Name:" you will put in "February 2013 Sleevers". after that there will be a rectangular black icon that says "Join Group" on the right side of the page. click that and you are good to go!

Once again, I'm sorry for not being able to keep up with everyone, I just have not had the time or the energy lately! Best of luck to everyone getting their sleeve done this week!!!

I start my liquid diet on Feb 4th and surgery is Feb 19.

Mine is on the 19th as well! Exactly a week away! I didn't get my surgery date until last week so I've only been on the pre-op for 4 days.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
