Does anyone have like a lot of loose skin?! I keep telling myself that since I am only 26 and have only been this big for about 4 years I won't get any. I know everyone is different but that is honestly the one thing that is scaring me the most about this. I have like 120 lbs to loose. I plan on working out and all that but am just sooo nervous.

The great thing is at only 26, you have the best chances of your skin bouncing back:).

I am 33. Had about 80 to loose. I am at 50 lb loss and I have zero loose skin.

I think that those two things are definitely on your side. 4 years of being that big plus only being 26, I think that you have pretty good chances of your skin coming back. I am unfortunately not so lucky, at 32 y/o and being big forever I can already see that I am going to need plastics.

I am praying!! lol I shouldn't even say I have only been this big for four years. I was up and down pretty much forever but right before I gained all this weight I was pretty small at 150 and I didn't have any sagging! Thank you guys! I hope you're all right! :)

What is your starting weight? I am 26 also, I've been overweight since puberty though. My doctor has set my goal, and I have 140 to loose. I know I'll have stomach skin, because I carry my weight there but I'm hoping that will be it for me ;-)

Hello

I'm 33 and I need to loose an additional 100 lbs. I've already lost 26. May main worry is loose skin. We are in the same boat I think. We'll have to keep each other updated.

I'm worried about the arms more than anything! I love tank tops, and I don't want scary elephant arms! Our starting weight is the same, let's hope age will be on our sides!

They say that age and size are the biggest factors. If you have less than 100lbs to lose you are less likely to have issues. If you are young, you again have less, and then the last factor is how long you've carried the weight. I am (gasp) nearly 50 but only had 70 to lose. I noticed a bit of lose skin under my chin as I lost weight in my face quickly and was worried I was going to have to resort to the Joan Rivers treatment, but my neck has firmed back up and it's fine. I don't notice issues with my arms aside from the fact that I need to exercise them more :) I was heavy for about 7 years if you count my pregnancy.

I think that given you're on the cusp of the 100lb mark and you're young and the weight is recent...you will find you'll have pretty good luck firming back up in the next two years (which is how much time you should give it after the surgery).

I am glad that I am not the only one!! I have about 100lbs to lose I am 25. The loose skin kinda scares me, and to be honest I don't want to have extra surgeries!! If anyone has any tips or secrets please let us know. I thought about doing the body wraps after surgery as well.

I'm 28...I've lost 86 pounds and my skin isn't very bad. I'm still in the losing stage and was told that it may take a little while for it to tighten back up. I work out and strength train. My stomach is doing pretty awesome...considering i've had two kids (one of which was a 10 lb baby!) I'd rather have a little loose skin than fat anyway ;)

This was definitely one of my biggest worries and still is, I just was sleeved a week or so ago but because I've been so worried about it I've looked up and researched ALOT of people who are done with their weight loss and showed their lose skin. From the tons of pictures and videos I've seen age is a BIG factor as well as how low your body fat is once you get to goal. The lower the body fat percentage, the lose skin on the stomach just seemed wrinkly and it seemed to not be apparent on the arms of legs very much. But higher body fat percentage is when you notice the 'apron' effect some people get when they lose weight. So working out will help tons! I hope that made sense lol

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
