I am only on day 3 of 6 and I am right there with you! I have not cheated.... but my mind keeps thinking about solid food..lol We can do this. How many days do you have left?

Until the 18th. They made me do a 2 week and my bmi is 35 so I don't understand. I'm worried we are going to my father un laws for a fish fry tomorrow and I love his fish so pray for me because it's going to be HARD!! And plus they don't know about the surgery.

oh no... they don't know? They will be wondering what is going on with you not touching the fish!! That is an awful long time for pre-op it seems with that BMI. It's interesting to see all the variations from one doc to the next. I will certainly be saying a prayer for you!

Just out of curiosity -- what is the price difference between having it done in Mexico and having it done here? Why are so many people having to go to Mexico? I'm having mine done March 26 and it can't come soon enough. I'm worried about pain post op cause I have six year old who doesn't know why mom's going to be hurting for a bit. And my husband says he'll be helpful but I don't know how long that will last. I'm hoping my mom will be there to help me for a bit till I get back on my feet. Wish me luck. I wish it to all of you.

Here in states SC they wanted $13,000 self pay. I am going to Mexico the 29th and its $4700 plus $459 airfare. They provide everything else 1 night in nice hotel, 2 night in hospital, then 2 more night in hotel. My insurance won't pay.

I'm on the 26th too. I'm also worried about my 4yo daughter. She still likes me to pick her up and carry her when she's tired, will be hard to explain that I can't for awhile :( I'm getting sleeved in the states (OK) but as I understand its about half price. My doctor does sleeves for $9995 not including pre-op testing, and I understand Mexico is about $4500-$5500. So a big difference if its out of pocket, but I would be scared to not have post op follow up :(

I am 4 days post op and I have a 4 y.o. as well and I told her prior to the surgery that I was having surgery so I could be healthier. So she knew beforehand, now I have to keep reminding her to not put her weight on my belly when she's moving around but she understands and she hugs me gently too.

I'm scheduled to have my surgery on March 27th. I'm a little nervous but also excited. I hear people talk about a pre op diet but noone has told me anything. I am scheduled to meet with the Dr on the 19th, maybe that is when I well find out everything. Hopefully it won't be too hard.

So I am on my 2nd day post op and I have been pretty nauseous. I have no pain really. I have a pain pump that will come off on day 3. Hop everyone is doing well.

I keep seeing posts on how everyone is doing pre op diets only a week or two before surgery. My surgeon has had me on a diet since january. High Protein no carbs. Is that normal? I go in for my pre op testing at the hospital today...a little nervous not sure what they have to do. Surgery is March 14. Its getting soooo close

I have been noticing that there is a wide variation in the requirements for pre-op diets from different docs. Mine just says high protein no carbs for 5 days and then Clear Liquids for 2. I don't know if I would be able to do a 2 month high protein no carb diet.

I was sleeved on the 6th this month in Mexico. I went there because of price. Here in my hometown it was $20,000.00. In Mexico it was $4,500.00. Now that it is said and done. You get what you pay for. Im home and comfortable now but the hole in the place I went to was dirty and the care sucked!!!!! Most people I read about going to Mexico are going to a different plane than I went to. I wish I dad found this site before making my plans. That being said..... I'm ready for this new life and I'm ready to be all healed up and meeting with my personal trainer and finding the girl I see in the mirror!!!! Again in so thankful for this thread!!!!!

I have zero post op follow ups and now that I'm home it scares me a bit too. I do have insurance but it doesn't cover bariatric surgeries.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
