For my am snack I have my Greek Yogurt. I still do best with Soups for lunch or cottage cheese with fruit, or Wendy's chili (1/4-1/2 a small, dep. on how fast I eat-eat too fast=eat less!) string cheese, sugar free apple sauce, laughing cow cheese. Just starting to eat veggies and I can tolerate beef better than poultry (strange!) still no eggs. I rely on fat free or low fat dairy a lot-I hope I don't get gall stones! I also have Smart Ones and eat less than a 1/2 serving. I try to only have them 1-2x a week- high sodium. But they make lunch fun.

i go back next week also. I plan a having a Protein Shake for Breakfast. For lunch I will take Soup and some pudding or applesauce. I'll have a snack after work. I am nervous going back. Gotta say i wouldn't mind the retired life!

I wish I had 5 weeks off! I was back to work after 1 week, but then I have a sit down job. Typically I will take 2 oz of sliced lunch meat, (normally boars head or all natural) and 1 oz of lowfat cheese and some sort of vegtable or fruit (1/4 cup) to go with. I usually have a protien shake for a snack. If I forget my lunch or havent been to the store to get stuff for lunch I will go to wendy's and get a small chili.

Good luck on your return to work!

I work in home health as well. Being in your car all day brings challenges others don't face, like there is no microwave or plates, lol. I usually take my Protein Shake in the morning and sipping on that between patients takes me until about 10 to finish it. Then, wait your allotted time and drink Water. I usually don't get hungry until about 2. I just keep it simple, pack a cool pack with deli meat and cheese. I'm satisfied with a piece of meat rolled up with the cheese inside. I prefer the crumbled feta but whatever you like. Then water till I get home, that's pretty much my day and I am completely satisfied. Good luck!

I see that a lot if people take lunchmeat as their lunch. Are you allowed to have a piece of a cooked chicken breast instead? Or does the lunchmeat go down easier?

I'm trying to learn as much as I can! :-)

I just dont take the cooked chicken breast cause I dont want to eat it cold. Being a home health nurse means no microwave.

Yeah, my usual stops are confused. Gas stations know me and know what I usually get. Now my stops there are for gas only, lol

Yes I will take something like that once in a while, but it tends to dry out in the microwave. I never really noticed before how a microwave will dry out meats and fish if warmed up. And they do tend to go down hard if dry, and no drinking while you eat to 'wash it down'. That has been really hard for me to do, not drink while I eat.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
