Hunny, screw the people who don't have something supportive to say and focus on those offering you great advice and words of encouragement. We are all human and make mistakes. I find it sad that former fat people are criticizing you when they themselves got the way they are from the same mistake, eating poorly. I slipped up too, 2 weeks out I was craving seafood so I tried a piece of baby cooked shrimp. I did fine with it and made sure to chew very well. After that, I stuck to my diet and 5 months later am down 82lbs. Try to focus on why you had this surgery and remind yourself that someday you will be able to have a nibble of whatever your heart desires, but for now you have to let your tummy heal and focus. Keep your head up :)

Scolding doesn't help, but neither does ignoring the start of an unhealthy pattern that could have some heavy consequences. I understand the OP and the desire to cheat but everyone that simply says " it's ok, I did it and was fine" is not making a healthy contribution to OP's problem. There is no support as effective as honesty.

Nicholanz said it perfect. If that's ambiguous in any way then it's like my Mama said, "can't argue with ignorance". There, how's that for honest. No rainbows or unicorns just plain truth. As I'm typing I'm wondering why I even care and its because I hate when someone is being vulnerable and someone stomps on their feelings. I'm done with this thread also. And to the OP, we all make mistakes and yes they can be costly but kicking u while your down is not what the "majority" of us are here for. Good luck!

The "harsh" people have nearly died from this process. Their insight is one of the pain and horror that "Just a bite" can actually take you down. We do this out of a deep desire to NEVER see anyone else post that they have a leak and the trauma they are going through. If you think the temptation is killing you, try slicing a hole in your lungs while you're awake to drain out the poison Fluid the leak is sending there. We are trying to knock some sense into people we don't want to see suffer. Holding your hand and saying it will be alright is not the responsible course.

Those who say "it won't kill you" haven't had complications, definitely didn't face life threatening ones. That's very clear. We don't have a lot pretty to share because we've seen the ugly side and to see someone take themselves there without need is difficult for us.

A feeding disorder is any disorder or "illness" associated with food. It can be eating too little, too much, throwing up on purpose, chewing and spitting out, limited textures, it runs the gambit. It's a medical term associated with food issues in adults and children. Eating too much or eating to tamp emotions falls under the umbrella as well.

And as to communication styles. I was on the national speakers circuit. You may not like me, but people pay to let me tell them like it is. :) I'm ok with doing it frankly...sharing both the good and the bad in life in a way that should send a clear message. I didn't pat my clients on the back either. They seemed to like that. If you don't like it, try ignoring me please.

While I appreciate you trying to prevent others from having complications, I could have swore you stated that your complication was no fault of your own.

How can you tell someone that something is bad when you haven't done it?

A bite of liquified lasagna is not going to kill her. If it was half the pan then yes I would also be on board with all about complications.

I am sure that leaks and complications happen from over eating or eating too much too soon. However, I would want this advice from someone who got a leak BECAUSE they ate too much as they would be a lot more knowledgable in that aspect.

One bite is never one bite.

We should all know that very well by now.

And liquified? What?

By Liquified I meant super masticated until practically liquid.

I can't say that the OP isn't being honest about one bite as I don't personally know her. I try to believe people as why lie on a forum? No one knows you.

My surgeon had to do an emergency procedure the week I had surgery. She just couldn't help it and ate part of a piece of toast. The chewed Gummy starch lodged in her still very swollen stomach and wouldn't budge. If she was a member here and said, "whoops I cheated" and got supportive feedback, then those who said things like, "It's ok, we all slip up" are contributors to her emergency.

I'm not sure if we all have the same definition of the word supportive.

Wow. Do you realize how angry you are? This is my second post and I'm only posting it because my email box is full of emails letting me know another hateful post has come in. I have seen only this thread and only found this forum this morning. Think about what kind of example your setting. Nobody responds to someone berating them to prove a point. Pointing out the threat is helpful, shame is not. You should be ashamed, I am one new sleeve person who will never come to this board for help or questions for fear of ridicule.

The fact that you people remember to chew it very well goes to show that you are making a conscience choice to cheat. You're not having a moment of slip. Your remembering that you were just given this huge opportunity that many people would kill to have' date=' and yet still choose to cheat.[/quote']

No I didn't make an effort to cheat, it was a slip that happened ONE time, therefore there was no effort in cheating. You obviously didn't have an addiction to food, think before you speak because you're coming across and a snobby b***h more than anything.

He made lasgna and I ate a spoonful. I chewed it to mush....but I still ate it.

I am sure making things up...

And how is chewing up food a calculated move? You can't physically swallow a spoonful without chewing it even a little...

I am done with this thread. Check your facts before posting Fishy.

Just because I remembered to chew it well, doesn't mean I made an effort to cheat. I knew that what I was doing was wrong, but that doesn't mean I was going to scarf it down because I was cheating anyway. Get off of your high horse.

Now I'm an idiot? STILL trying to figure out HOW that helped? Did saying that change what I did? Did saying that offer a plan for change? Fishy, please have a seat. At this point it's like you're trying to top the last thing you said. NONE of which is conducive to an adult conversation or offering support. What are you going for? Makes me wonder…why are you so angry and why are you fishing for negative responses.

Update: I found some support groups in my area. I getting some "help"!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
