Let me go on the record saying that I believe WW is the best and most realistic program out there. I had previously lost tons of weight on WW and felt great. Thanx to Mirena and other issues I gained it all back with interest. Now I need surgical help to get healthy, and most importantly STAY that way. That being said I am currently doing the WW program again to safely lower my BMI for my surgery. I am happy to report I lost 1.4 lbs the 1st week and 7.6 lbs this week. I am chipping away at my BMI bit by bit!

That's awesome!! I'm a firm ww believer. I lost 127 pounds on it. Gained most of it back when I quit going. Now that I've had the surgery, I still plan on going back after the first of the year. It's a great support and healthy lifestyle. And once I'm back at goal, it's free!! Lol! Good luck on journey! It sounds like you are headed in the right direction!!

I use a ton of WW principles and still count my "points" when I can't track online. It's a great program, just not permanent weight loss (at least for me).

Considering obesity has been a part of my life forever I need a "permanent" solution as a foundation for the WW lifestyle. I think once I'm postop and at goal WW will make the healthy new me a force to be reckoned with! And it's a safe way for me to lose weight until I start the official preop diet closer to surgery time. :-)

I lost weight on the old WW program, but not on the new one. I think the addition of unlimited fruits was not good for me. My body does better on low carb meals. However, I am using a lot of WW recipes and adapting them to a lower carb meal. And I'm sure I'll use more once I'm in maintenance.

I love WW (but I know pre-op unlimited fruit would have been a disaster for me. Heck, I overdid it on unlimited vegetables!) WW really helped me understand what healthy eating looks like, how to read a label, how to enjoy an occasional treat, how to be kinder to myself and recognize emotional hunger. It wasn't enough to help me get the weight off and keep it off, but it was the best program I tried for weight loss pre-op.

I can dig it. And once I hit goal I think we combined with my sleeve will be an unbeatable combo!

Congrats! WW never worked for me unfortunately, I was always starving... low fat foods just don't fill me up, I do much better on just meat + veggies. I guess WW would have worked for me if I had cut out all pasta/bread/potatoes/sugars!

I felt like I was obsessed with food on WW. I was always figuring how much I could eat with my points. I want food to be to fuel my body not my life. Hopefully after I get my sleeve that will be the case.

For me WW was seamless and natural. I just had issues with Mirena and other stuff. I had lost over 100 lbs and felt great. Wasn't starving. Then Murphy's Law. But I realize that I need to be sleeved as an ultimate safety net.

Well at more than 18 months out, it's all about choices. I could gain all the weight back if I make the wrong ones. So I choose a small soy latte instead of a a medium mocha with whipped cream. I choose to eat popcorn less than once per week. I don't keep my favorite sweet or salty Snacks in the house. I save them for a special occasion. I eat lowfat eggnog froyo instead of cups of full fat eggnog. And so forth. WW helped me understand how to make those choices.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
