I must confess that today do to extreme stress I let the old me back and eat like crazy all day long. In my 9 th month out and have not eaten like this for about a year. 4 people shoot outside my home my car drenched in bullets, had I been in it I wouldn't be writing this post and the beast in my belly and brain was released stressed and sick to my stomach, is this a bad sign is stress going to destroy my hard work. Always been an emotional eater but I was sure I had beaten that battle, slain on the weight battlefield today, but happy to be alive. Sorry for the rant

That's terrible. Where do you live???

I'm in my early 40's now. In my early 30's I lost 150+ pounds through diet and exercise. I thought I was bullet proof and my issues with food were solved. I was cured. WRONG. Over the next 10 years I put back on 110 pounds.

Now I know I'll never be 'cured' of my issues with food. It'll be something I'll need to manage, always.

But I learn from my mistakes and move on. When I lose the weight this time, I won't make the same mistakes again.

Learn from today and move on. You're in a better position now because you know there's still emotional eating issues there. Now that you're aware you can manage that next time you feel under stress.

Cheers,

Deano

First and foremost, stay safe.

Given the circumstances, no wonder your inner food demon needed comforting.

Similarly to Deano, I thought I had kicked the food demon out of my life and then life happened - divorce, move, new job, etc and man it was back in full swing.

We all have days. Treat yourself well and remember the stress you were under was crazy and give yourself a great big hug.

And, this is coming from the mommy in me, please move to a safer neighborhood. You deserve it!!!

Hugs,

Jess

First thank goodness you are ok...Don't beat upself up over it. We have all had temptations and fell off the wagon. Brush yourself off..look yourself in the mirror and think how far you have come. The beast won one little battle, but YOU are winning the war. Jump back on the wagon and enjoy the ride. Good Luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
