I have noticed a lot of people wanting to know other people's experiences with a weight close to their own. But since weight is subjective I wanted to know what some of your experiences are/were with a BMI over 50. My BMI is 51.3 and I am afraid of losing too much weight before my ins. approves my sx. They require a BMI over 50 for the sleeve. I feel like if I drop below 50 they will deny me.

Sounds like a plan. Don't lose anymore weight until you are approved. Then you can go gang-busters!! Good Luck.

I have lost 4 pounds but just about 6 more pounds would put me just under 50. I hate going to my NUT appointment with such a small change in my weight, it makes me feel bad, like she probably thinks I am not listening to her or following her advice.

It will come later I guess, like Amazon13 said, after you won't need worry and can go gang busters to lose wieght.

hey grrwuff,

Cheer up, it seems to be just another waiting game. Soon the time will allow you to move forward. Maybe just tell the NUT what your doing, they may have an opinion but if its necessary to keep the weight its also your choice. You will be able to hear what the NUT says about it though. Eat healthy, just not to little.

Thanks, I have been trying to eat better but also not limiting a lot. I did tell the NUT that I was afraid of being denied. She said I have a few pounds to play with and depends on who at the ins. co. reviews my case.

I hate to say it but its a good thing that you continue to get as many weights recorded as you might at this weight before they see it to review. hmmm, don't know what else to think but I sympathize with you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
