Do low carb like a mofo! You can do it! Don't let yourself have more than 20 carbs a day and you will lose it forsure!

Thank you!! I start my liquid diet today!!

Go on your protein shakes and small salads now. You'll be surprised how fast you'll drop weight, you'll get to try out different shakes to find what you like, and do as much calorie-burning exercise as you can. Above all, be stubborn in your desire for the surgery! I can stick to any diet short term, and a week may seem like an eternity while you're in it, but will be over soon and you'll be on your way to your new sleeve!

Great motivation!!You're right! Thanks.

I am having my surgery on the 12th too and I was in the same boat... 10lbs gone or no surgery!!

This is my plan and I only have 3-4 more lbs to go!

Upon waking up: metamucil mixed with low carb juice

Breakfast: Low carb, low cal, high Protein Protein Drink for Breakfast with coffee until lunch

Lunch: 1-2 servings of veggies with some lean meat of some kind (1 serving)

snack: metamucil mixed with low carb juice

Dinner: 1-3 servings of veggies with one serving of lean meat.

after dinner/before bed: metamucil mixed with low carb juice

10 pounds by December 12th? EASY. Just do a VLCD and stick with it. After the first 4 or 5 days it becomes easy. I'm currently waiting on my Protein to arrive and then I will be doing 800 calories a day until my March surgery date.

My plan is to do three scoops of protein in fat free milk giving me 110 grams of protein and adequate potassium which is something most multivitimins lack. I'm also taking a prenatal multivitim divided into two doses so I'm taking half the dose in the morning and half the dose in the afternoon. One Vitamin b complex capsule, and one vit d3 tablet with magnesium. I'm also doing one kale/lemon/ginger shot sweetened with stevia per day. I don't recommend this unless you're an experienced juicer. Kale shots can be very hard on the tummy if you're not used to them. Ordinarily I'd put some green apple and an orange with the kale and enjoy it as a yummy juice, but I can't do the carbs right now because I want to be in ketosis.

I've done a 30 day juice fast in the past, and I've also done also a high protein liquid VLCD in the past and I can tell you that it's NOT that bad.. particularly when you have a goal in sight. Once you resign yourself to not eating, it goes easy. You only have to do it for TWO WEEKS... that's NOTHING. You GOT THIS!

Thank you so much!! I start my liquid diet today. I'm hoping with that and some exercise i can get there!!

The liquid diet thing will work wonders too! Gum will be your new best friend... extra dessert flavored gum is so close to willy wonka's dinner in a gumball it's crazy!! lol My daughter LOVES it and it's sugarfree.

OH and congrats!! It's coming up quick!!

**update**

At pre-op appt Yesterday I was 243.1 and this morning (9:00am) I am at 240.5

So only 7 more to go! You can do it! As you do liquids more you will find that you aren't able to pass BMs as easily... this is where the Fiber will help and it'll also help budge extra lbs.

I know, I know, it's not a very delicate womanly topic but it's true. Came directly from my GP lol She went into further detail actually which is REALLY inappropriate for a forum.

You can do it!!! I met with the surgeon yesterday and he also wants me to lose ten pounds by dec 31, and then if I meet the goal- then he can give me a date. Disappointed and sad that I didnt get a date yet--- but slept and got over the sadness. Thank goodness for y'all support-- I'm so motivated! We can do this!

My nut had me do low carb protein snacks and 2 little meals a day but the scale didn't budge. I had to lose 15 before I was given a surgery date. With her blessing, I went insanely strict. 3 protein shakes during the day and 1 teeny dinner of mainly the protein and a little veg. And enough water to float a car. I was able to lose my remaining weight in a month (13 lbs). I even cheated a few times.

The tough part was I had to keep it off until surgery date. I ate the same but made sure I was below that target weight and made sure I splurged 1 last time.

It will happen. Try to relax. Stress isn't good for weight loss.

Update***

I got on the scale this morning and I am down 5lbs!! ;-)

Most of us have to do a liquid diet two weeks before the surgery. I don't have my date yet, I know it will be soon. I am on high Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch, a 300 calorie frozen meal substitute, like Healthy Choice, which are really good by the way. A snack from a list the NUT gave me and I can have up to two cups of fresh vegis. The shakes are around 160 cal each. Maybe I'm getting 750 cals a day. I have to lose 14 pounds from my weigh-in weight. Being strict, I can do it.

By the way, you are gorgeous and so are the kids. Good luck!
