Thank you so much. I look foreward to feeling better. I keep walking around and it seems to make me feel worse when I sit back down. How did you do it?? That and still hooked up to an IV

make sure it's not the morphine that is making you nauseous - ask for different pain med - and definitely nausea meds! Hang in there - it DOES get better each day!

Yes I definitely have preferred standing and walking to laying down. I finally was able to get another pillow semi propped under my stomach and slept on my side. That was the only way it didn't hurt. Getting up and down takes a lot of stomach muscles so I try to use the wall, the bed rails, my legs, anything to use less stomach crunching.

If your hospital bed doesn't have the trapeze bar to help get in and out of bed, request one. I tried getting out of bed without it once. Once. Never again.

Hey everyone

So I am 1 week post op and I have to say, today was the first day I felt really good. I definitely had my share of "what the hell did I do" days in the very beginning but definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Cannot wait to move on from the full liquid diet and get to eat some tuna and egg salad. Just wanted all the pre-ops and early post-ops to know that it DOES get better. Every day is better than the last. I ate some Soup at a restaurant today and it felt great to be satisfied and full so quick. I am so excited for the rest of the year and what is to come!

Hey all! I'm new around these parts :D

My surgery is scheduled for January 7th and I was wondering if there are any others schedule for the big day in January 2013 ...?

I'm scheduled for tomorrow. It's been a long haul, I did my pre op classes and that was started in July and now I'm finally just getting to the last step. Anyone else tomorrow?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
