Surgery Complete-Feeling Great!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on the 3rd with Dr. Lopez at Mi hospital, there were 3 of us. I am out, and at the hotel recovering. I feel surprisingly well! I have been pushing the liquids all day, and aside from vomiting my first day out (from not walking enough), I have had no issues, I did the blue swallow leak test, and the barium swallow, not complaints, and have only needed one pain pill so far today. We will see what tomorrow holds, but I am about 95% sure I am over the hump!

Congrats! Glad to hear you are doing so well. I'm scheduled for surgery today. Hope my recovery is as smooth as yours. Will be sure to walk as much as I can.

Congratulations!! I was there on Sept 10th with Dr Garcia. My surgery went great also. Just keep sipping your Water so you don't dehydrate, I saw it happen when I was there. You are on your way!!

I can't say enough about how happy I am with this whole experience. I think you really get out of it what you put into it. THe hotel is great, the hospital is clean, the nurses don't have the best grasp of English, but they certainly take good care of you, and understand. The surgeons are really great, I felt comfortable, and at ease the entire time. Abraham and Eduardo are wonderful too, they have been extra caring and accomodating to my mother who is here with me. She is terrified to leave my side, and wouldn't even leave to get food, they took time out of their busy schedule to bring food to ehr even though she didn't ask. I feel like I made the right decision for myself going through ALighterMe. Ronda was a wonderful suppert agent, always answering my questions, and I got a surprise, Janese is actually here for a short while, and I got to meet and spend time with her while I've been here. What a wonderful lady she is also! Feel free to PM or message me any questions, I know I was a little scared going into this whole experience, but coming out, I couldn't be happier!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
