Did Anyone Make A Food Bucket List?

Recommended Posts

I love going to resturants still. I love that a meal from my favorite resturants now turns into 1 or 2 more meals. To me' date=' it actually makes it more worth the money! My fiance and I try to share a meal if we're out and won't be able to get it home to the frige in a resonable time, but most of the time I just end up with delicious leftovers! :D[/quote']

That's one thing I'm looking forward to being able to do! Getting more meals out of what used to be one...

I already tend to get 2 meals from a restaurant meal so I'm sure it will be much more after I'm sleeved.

I get four to six meals out of some restaurants, three out of others. But I'm early in.

I think this last meal, or bucket list thing is misguided myself. First of all, later on you can have anything. I plan on an eggnog this holiday season, just not several of them. I do eat rice, but brown rice and just a little, which is a perfect accompaniment to my little meals. The only thing I gave up is white bread and candy and still later I will have a bit if I want, just not the big box :).

You don't need to stuff yourself prior to surgery. Believe me you will feel full again, just with less food. I enjoy wine again and can't wait for champs at New Years (when I'm allowed to have it again). Making food such a deep focus isn't healthy IMO. Taking control is key if you have a food addiction. If you quit smoking you don't have two packs the day prior to quitting...so why stuff your face before you quit stuffing your face? :).

No list, per se, but I have had a couple of thoughts along that line:

1 - I got a smoker for Father's Day, so I've gotta do at least one more batch of ribs. Might need to sell it after that though.

2 - Five Guys

3 - Chipotle

Yup, I sure did. Then something just told me...really, you're not dying you're just eating healthier. Just wait until later once you've already learned and retrained your body. You probably won't even want it then.

I started thinking okay, if I had a toddler, would I let him/her eat this? That's how I normally (when I'm not mentally breaking down) look at this process. I'm getting a reset. So in the end it wound up not being worth it.

However, Thanksgiving will be a challenge...

Since making the mental decision to have the surgery and starting all the testing I have just stopped all of the ridiculous dieting that I usually do until I start my pre op diet.

I am mourning the loss of never taking a "Man vs. Food" challenge... Not that I would ever finish it in the first place, but once I'm sleeved it would be a total waste if food.< /p>

I'm sad to say I have been eating anything and everything. I've been in love with food for so long. It has supported me through it all...but it is time to break up. I just want to be friends lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
