I inquired about the single incision. I didn't realize its only available if your BMI is under 40, which mine is not.. so its not an option for me.

I would say it would be fairly useless to get it done with a higher BMI because you will probably end up having a Tummy Tuck once you are done and it won't matter if you had scars there because they would be removed when you had the tuck done. My BMI is 35 and I am not even going to have the single incision done as I think I would probably need a tummy tuck once I am finished anyways.

FYI...the multiple incisions are tiny, but they probably won't be removed in a Tummy Tuck because they are above the belly button. But I guess it would depend on your starting size.

Agreed with ^ ... Tummy tucks are usually the bottom skin removed. I am paying the extra $1000 for the spider technique w dr Garcia ~ May 11

*less pain & healing time (I'm flying back to Nz 6 days later so that a plus for me) ...also I don't particularly like my BB so a new one would be great lol

I've heard a lady on here saying u can't even tell she's had surgery...

Hey folks,

So it's been a while since I posted to this forum. It's actually been awhile since I opened this app. I was sleeved my Dr. Garcia Feb 5, 2013. My start weight was 248, surgery weight 239, current weight 205. I am closing in on 11 weeks post op. I have lost a total of 43 pounds including pre-op. 34 pounds since surgery. Everything has been great so far. No complications, a few moments of discomfort but not real problems. I'm learning a lot about my new stomach.

I haven't post to this site because I've been busy. And honestly I think that's how it is for other patients. When you are preparing for surgery your main focus is research. So you spend as much time as possible in forums, etc. But once you have had the procedure your focus isn't the forums or research. But more so on following protocol and trying to survive this procedure with no complications.

Trust me I know how frustrating it is to be looking for more people with experience. When you are trying to do your research. But believe once you've completed this process. You'll be so focused on doing things right that you forget to check in in blogs and forums.

For me I have only been able to focus once a week to my YouTube channel. Which is getting scares. I've gone from 6 min weekly vids to 56 secs weekly videos. There is a lot of sleevers that use YouTube. Maybe you all should follow a few of us to keep posted. Again I post every Tuesday sometimes Wednesday if I'm super busy. If you want to follow me you can.

LaserSkinGirl thanks for posting. I have also opted for "Same Day Surgery". My plane arrives at 12:30; I was a little worried about being late for testing, but Alma said that I would be fine. I will stay two nights in the hospital and 1 night in the hotel. I want to get back home. I told my boss that I would be having surgery, did not mention what type, but asked if it was okay to work from home until I felt I was ready to come back to work. I was planning on returning to work the next day after I arrived home, just want the extra time if needed.

Liz ?

Are you blazing back out of town on the 13th when we are released? I was thinking of staying that Monday night, but know I will be happier to sleep in my own bed, so I am thinking of flying home Monday afternoon.

Hello all!

I'm in San Diego now, driving around waiting for another patient to land before we head over the border to Tijuana. Surgery tomorrow! As soon as I'm able I'll be adding an account of my experience.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
