Hi Kee and :welcome: to LPT! Congratulations on getting your date too. Now it seems more real. Expect to have a variety of emotions up to and including the day of the surgery. They are all "normal."

What I really want to congratulate and acknowledge you for is the work you are doing on your own already to bring the weight down. :whoo: That kind of commitment will do you well.

Good luck!

Jo Ann

Congratulations on setting a date! Dr. Moazzez did my surgery 1 month ago today, and everything has gone smoothly so far. You have had amazing progress so far, and I'm sure you will do great with the band.

Good luck with all your pre-op stuff over the next few weeks.

I hope I decide to do it also. I am still reading about this whole thing. I have about 80 pounds to loose. I really need some good advice on what to expect after the surgery.

weight loss ...glorious weight loss. 1 week to recover. pain equal to doing 1,000 sit ups. not bad at all for me. if you are younger / healthy you will have no problem at all most likely

good luck

don't be confused....just choose to be healthy:clap2: :clap2:

I am 30, and I am very healthy...no problems except this weight of mine. I am really considering doing this. I guess I just have to do it...and I can't wait to post that I am loosing weight! I am 200 pounds...I don't have a big stomach or anything. It is all in my thighs and behind and arms...but I almost have a flat tummy so I am not sure if I will be one of the slower weight loosers....

I was 34 when I had my surgery and it was so much easier than I thought it would be (never had surgery before). Honestly, for me it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. It is a personal decision. I wish you the best in your process, whichever direction you choose.

You may lose slow maybe not, the key thing is the scale will move in the downward direction. I don't know about you, but for me...the scale kept going up year after year. This new direction of mevement is wonderful. 1 pound at a time they all are wonderful.

You have lost 66 pounds, that is so wonderful. I wish I could go into the future and say that about me.

Thank you for the encouragement. You are right, each year, the scale keeps going up! and I look in the mirror and I slowly see somebody else. It has been a long time since I feel sexy. My husband has never called me fat. He always tells me that I look good, but honestly, I don't think so. After 4 kids, it has been a tough ride, and I know I won't be able to do it by myself. I have tried so hard. It has become a daily thing...I want to loose weight, but I just eat too much. Especially at night. I have a very stressful job, so my only enjoyment is going out to eat at night with the kids and my husband...

That is probably the only fun I get. I am not really even that hungry, but I still eat for fun.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
