Well i went to the dr yesterday and told him the complications i was having as far as working out and my food intake.i lost 5lbs this week and he was actually upset saying it shouldve been more,to me he is a good surgeon but very arrogant at times.i told.him about.the nausea, fatique, weakness and cramping.and.of course some swelling and pain in my left side.i will be 4 wks post op on the 8th of nov,and of course he wanted me to return to work today,but.bc.my.bp.was up i.got.3 days to rest so.i.return.to work on 11/12 which im still not.understanding why after.i.just had.major abdominal.surgery and i know thats 6wks out.but.as far as my complications i was told to.deal.with.it....

Quianna sorry you are having some complications and pray you start to feel better soon! I took 5 weeks off from work and to be honest I started feeling much better after the 1st week back! The 1 st couple of days were hard and long but now I have been back to work 3 weeks and I am much much better! Wishing you continued success

I went back to work 1 week post op. It actually made me feel better faster. The first 2 days were rough, but I brought Tylenol to last the day. Good luck to you and think positive!

I am a QSR restaurant manager and am wondering the same thing... no surgery date set yet, just completed my sleep study. I am hoping for the week after Turkey Day. I work 10 hour shifts and am on my feet the whole time. What should I expect when I return to work..?? I was originally told 2 weeks...now I am hearing 3-4 weeks... I do not have STDL and really can not afford to take so much time off...

But I do not want that to be a reason for me to regret my choice to have surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
