Having been heavy most of my life it upsets me to admit this but the thinner I get, the nicer people are to me. I just left a gas station where I hot a coffee. A young man let me cut him and an old guy got the door for me. Like I said, it is sad to me. I was invisible before.

You sound just like me! I say I was invisible before, too! I'm amazed at the people who respond positively to me now. It's amazing and sad at the same time, isn't it?

I don't know how familiar any of you are with the show Real Housewives of NJ but one of the women from the show, Melissa Gorga put of a fat suit and walked around Times Square in NYC for an interview on ET. Melissa who has an outstanding figure normally even admitted how mean people were to her when she was in her fat suit. She had rude comments made to her, doors slammed in her face, it was really eye opening to her. I am not sure what the policy is for posting links on here but if you just google MElissa Gorga fat suit the stories and YouTube videos will come up and you can see for yourself.

That just shows how judgemental people truly are. I was thin until I hit 30, then it all went down hill. But even at my smallest I NEVER treated anyone badly due to their weight, maybe because I had a 350 lbs. aunt (who is now 150 after her RNY). All I can say is what comes around goes around and those people will have their own heartache eventually.

Being overweight is nothing to be ashamed of, it happens, and sometimes its out of your control. My mother always told me to hold my head up high and demand respect no matter your size. I always make eye contact, smile, and show my thoughts and emotions on my face when I am in public.

I'm 26 and about 3 and a half years ago I weighed about 180 and I looked so thin, it was weird. I'm 5'5 but I guess I have heavy bones? I don't know but I got pregnant and it's been 2 years and I'm at the heaviest I've ever been. I'm at 260 and although I still don't look huuuuge my blood pressure is out of control!!! I remember how nice ppl used to be towards me just 3 years ago. There is def. a huge change. Hopefully my operation next month goes good!!! :: fingers crossed::

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
