I have a terrible cold and NyQuil is usually the best remedy for me. But I don't know if I'm allowed and hate to call my dr on a Friday evening. I'm 6 weeks post op!

The alcohol in the Nyquil might make your pouch upset. I took some childrens cold liquids and it seemed to help. I would ask the doctor :)

Hope you feel better.

My doc said to stay away from NyQuil. I had already had 1 dose and it burned my stomach pretty bad (just the feeling not an actual burn). The pharmacist suggested robituassin bc it's not as much alcohol and cheap so if I couldn't handle it I hadn't spent an arm and leg. It burned a little going down but was tolerable. This was 3 weeks out also. The doc said to stay away from any decongestant, but musinex w a cough suppressant worked pretty well also.

I have taken it post op before but it doesnt take much. I took the regular dose after having a smaller stomach and the next day I was super duper tired.

I have a cold I am not a week out of surgery. My Dr office said Tylenol cold or something to that fact. I had dayquil here and I have been taking it just a spoonful at the time and it doesnt seem to bother the stomach.

I got a cold about 2 weeks out of surgery and took Nyquil for about 4 days. It had 10% alcohol in it and it was probably not the best choice on my part. No problems taking it, but burned a little.

Made a big mistake and took Nyquil last night for severe cold symptoms, I only took about a tablespoon and I almost ended up in the ER. I had dizziness, squeezing chest pain, and a searing pain going up between my shoulder blades! I thought i had caused a leak or maybe a blood clot broke loose- I was terrified and call my Surgeon (via his answering service at 10pm), and he said my symptoms were significant even if I did not have the sleeve just 2 weeks ago, he said if the symptoms continued and did not get better I should go to the ER where I had my surgery (an hour away) or come see him in the office tomorrow if symptoms do get relieved. Fortunately I had my hubby with me and he kept me calm and I finally fell asleep in the recliner-he slept on the couch next to me. I usually am not one to panic but the feelings I was having were NOT normal!

I am so very sorry to hear about your scare! I have been taking liquid Tylenol at night and Tylenol cold and sinus pills during the day with no issues. Maybe those Would agree with you more! I hope you are feeling better today!!

Try liquid Tylenol. It honestly has worked great for me with no side effects!!

There is a robitussin that is for diabetics, no sugar or alcohol. Not had surgery yet but am a bad diabetic and that's what I take.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
